    Randomly getting kicked error 90000

Every few hours, I find myself getting kicked from the game with error 90000. It does not crash the game entirely. It simply gives me the error 90000 box, I hit ok, and it sends me back to the title screen.

It's been happening since launch day, the 27th.

My internet connection is great, and I monitor the connection in game via the little wifi symbol on the top right corner, and that's great all the time.

There is no warning to when it happens, no lag, nothing. Just doing any old thing, and boom 90k. It's not happened while zoning, or while entering or leaving an instance or anything like that. I could just be standing in zone, fishing, and it'll happen. Or I could be in the middle of a boss fight in a dungeon and it could happen.

I don't see anyone else having this problem, so I wonder if it may be something on my end?

I'm on PC. I don't know what other info you may require. Anything I can give to help, let me know.

Bumping because I just saw someone on these forums who has the same error. Maybe there's more of us out there?

I get error 90000 constantly, but my wifi symbol always shows Received: 0 when the game is the active window so... I kinda have the same problem sorta not really... I hope they sort all of this out before too long, anyway

Yes there are I posted about it in this thread earlier.

For me, it's not something that's happened more than maybe once in days of play - until today, when the new character I created on a NA server literally cannot be played, as the server boots me within a minute with error 90000.

Interestingly, I noticed that the sent and received numbers were never both active - I'd get received with a "sent" of 0, then the other way around. If that sounds like incredible lag, you'd be right; I'd click on a quest NPC and get absolutely no response.

When disconnected, once I reloaded the character I found I was back 10 or 20 yards from where I was when I was booted from the server. Also if I tried to reload the character right away I would get an error message that she was still logged in.

From all this I am guessing it is either massive lag due to load on the server itself, or congestion in the pipes leading to that server

And yes, I hope they sort it out soon too. Created the character a day ago and she is still level 1 due to a combination of the server being full, and error 90000 when it's possible to log in at all

I'll keep a closer eye on my send/receive data, and I'll also note if I'm not exactly where I was when I get kicked. If it's lag due to server congestion, then it should be fixed by next week when they add the new datacenter.

If it IS lag though, wouldn't there be a lot more people experiencing this? None of my friends have this problem, ever. I even thought I was the only one and thought it could be something on my end.

Just got kicked off the server with the 9000 code myself.

This is really not impressive at all, if the system gets congested this easily, this fast, it really shows they didn't prepare at all prior to launch. It's flippin' 2013, about time the mmorpg developers started learning from each others mistakes and build upon them to improve themselves...

What also bugs me is the fact that the EU/NA server park is located in Canada... OF COURSE THIS WILL CAUSE ISSUES FOR EU PLAYERS IN THE LONG RUN! Once the system gets a higher number on a regular basis, the EU players will get less bandwith thus we get more lag on the EU servers.

It's ridiculous to say the least. SE has EU offices. They should've set up servers there instead of forcing us through the same pipeline as NA players.

Just got kicked off. I didn't notice if my received packet was at 0 or not cuz I was busy running around on chocoback, but I DID notice that I wasn't exactly in the same spot when I got kicked. I was about a good 20 -40 feet off, as far as I can guess. So maybe there was packet loss involved...

Known ISP issue. Check this sticky thread:
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...P2P-throttling

In the meantime it can be worked around by using a VPN.

It's nothing to do with P2P throttling by ISPs. My ISP throttles nothing and yet that was still happening (later on, I connected and stayed connected, and was flawlessly playing for 14 hours, so it's a bit of a mystery.)

The fact that the servers and the pipes that feed them are being hammered within an inch of their lives (and if everyone's macro-ing login attempts it's geting close to a DDOS attack probably has more to do with it.

I tried 2 different VPN's last night and I still got 90k'd. So, yeah I don't think it'd throttling. And it happened last night more than any other night this week, Friday night, prime-time... I'm guessing it's cuz of what Audrena says. DATA CENTERS!!!!
