The harsh reality is that if you want awesome gear, you are expected to work for it, this applies to real life too. It took me 9 tries to get my Mirke Wardecors in FFXI, but when I finally beat the seed crystal, it made the having the armor all the more sweeter. (That, and I had a great story to share.)

Nothing is worth having if you didn't truly EARN it, and quests that give you amazing gear as an easy freebie is NOT a quest, it is a handout. Even if you are casual, there is no reason why you cannot try the same difficult quest for a powerful sword or legendary armor that a hardcore player would enjoy.
I agree but that what players don't understand most just want everything handed to them. Sadly not even life is casual you need to work your a** off just to meet ends meet even if you win the lotto you still have to be smart with it. The game need some. hardcore does not mean wasting 500hours on something it's how hard it took you to get for a great story even if it take you 3-4days to get one item that would last you to endgame that good enough reason to get the item.

But w/e my last post fix the issue vs causal and hard core they doing something fun and hard matter if the causal like it or not. it may not take 3-5hours to do but it still going to be a hard event.
