There is no profit or point in gimmick servers, because nobody would actually play on these after like a week when the novelty wears off.

Like half the "hardcore" things that people say they would like to see in the game can already be done NOW if you do it voluntarily. You can choose not to use your anima, or only use a single favorite warp point, or whatever you think is hardcore.

PvP servers aren't a gimmick, LOL. Most games have them.
