SE, you chose the casual route and the game bombed hard. yet, you still insist on following this route in your attempts to "fix" the MMO.
i am finished with arguing over the internet of how ffxi did it all right and how ffxiv did it all wrong. my last gash would be simple, to request for at least one server that has ffxi elements.
while awaiting for the "fixes" i think it would be relatively harmless and beneficiary, in both the data gathering, and player population levels, to offer the community a hardcore server they can select to play in with the following features;
1] 10% xp loss upon death including down-leveling.
2] removal of teleportation and anima system completely.
3] re-insert the player population count under the search option again.
4] ability to bind to only a single home point (crystal).
5] reduce NM's pop times to once every 2 hours.
6] all items (including NM & mob drops) tradable / sellable besides starter gear like underwear, starter weapon, etc.
7] removal of automated party buffs.
edit; need to add, 8] to prevent "easy" money and "easy" loot from being smuggled accross the easy servers to the hardcore ones, character transfers will not be allowed unless you to strip your character of all assets & gil if deciding to join the hardcore server.
these simple settings will eliminate zergfests, bloodporting, and promote economic growth. these settings will also create a sense of adventure that includes a risk vs. reward system and envelop a world with real danger and a sense of accomplishment.
if you support this hardcore server help this thread grow. if you appose it then do not post in here and especially attempt at starting arguments, there are plenty of other threads for that.
in anticipation (and hopes) of other ffxi elements being introduced in future patches like the battle, job, and travel system, i think it's a good idea to allow ffxi refugees to have a world in which they can thrive in and have fun.
