Request for information: ISPs and P2P throttling

Well if these experiences are like what I have been experiencing and are not as I have suspected Hardware related, then I guess I have the same issue....

ISP: Optimum/Cablevision
Country: USA (EST)
Time: 4pm (EST) until the next morning

Time: 5pm-11pm

I have raised the issue with them but they have NO idea what I'm talking about. No one I spoke to knows what P2P is or how video-games work. So I can't do anything until you guys do.

- After 6pm GMT onwards till about 11 or 12pm GMT and this happens every night, I play many hours during the daytime no problem at all but as soon as it hits 6pm I get a massive noticeable lag and not being able to click on npc's and being stuck in menus for up to 5mins at times.

I am definitely being throttled at these times.

Have you tried going in to your store and asking for a regrade? I haven't had a chance to test it as the servers are down at the moment, but apparently this issue is with old accounts. I've had the exact same thing.

As posted elsewhere before, we are investigating issues that might be caused by ISPs classifying FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn as P2P software.

To give us a clearer view on how widespread this issue is, it would be much appreciated if everyone who experienced such issues could post the following information as a reply to this thread:

- Name of ISP
- Country of Residence
- When does the problem occur (always, only during specific times?)
- Reference number from your ISP, if you raised this matter with them

- When does the problem occur (always, only during specific times?): Usually starts at 12pm but gets really bad from 6pm to 2am. GMT+8
- Reference number from your ISP, if you raised this matter with them: no ticket but my isp mentioned they didn't have any policy against P2P. And assures me the problem is from your servers.

If it helps any, I experience the same issues as the thread is asking for that's why i'm posting here.

Damn all I want to do is play the game "I" paid 30 bucks for. Plus if people want their money back SE should give it back (Good class action lawsuit if they wont), I dont want my money back I just want someone to answer my 22 hour old ticket.

NOTE: I have already posted before, but I wanted to add something

Running a ping test before connecting to the launcher/login confirms I have a solid connection no matter what I am doing on the net
Immediately after starting FFXIV, the connection becomes completely unstable affecting my entire connectivity
As soon has I close out (or get kicked out) of FFXIV, my connection stabilizes again.

Running a simple ping test to another website before you open up FFXIV and leaving open during you attempt to get FFXIV, you should be able to see how its affecting connectivity.

- whenever it reaches 7pm every single night time till about 12am my connection starts to throttle & lag and the game starts to be unresponsive,

- Abilities can have upto 5 mins delay.
- Zoning takes forever and sometime stuck on the black loading screen.
- Interacting with NPCs or Quests can take 5+ mins before the interaction starts and ends.

im definately getting throttled and when i force close the game due to these things just not responding im locked out the game for the rest of the day due to server traffic pretty much every night from 7pm - 12am
