Thanks for your email.
I'm sorry to learn of the problems that you're experiencing when playing
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
Our traffic management policy that your email refers to has been in
place for a number of years as part of our Terms of Use.
Some of our broadband customers use file sharing software and download
large files like music and videos. This uses up lots of network capacity
leaving less available for you. If they're doing this at peak times, it
could mean that the speed of your broadband service will be affected.
This is why we're prioritising the important types of internet traffic
at busy times.
If you live outside of an EE Network area, then this policy has changed
slightly. For these customers we'll also monitor streaming in peak
hours, as well as the use of Peer-to-Peer software. This means that if
your streaming videos or TV programmes in peak hours you'll find it
takes longer to do so.
Typically peak hours for broadband are between 4.30pm to 1am on weekdays
and 1.30pm to 1am on weekends.
Some online games do use Peer-to-Peer software and, as such, this will
come under the rules of your Traffic Management Policy.
In order to find out if Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn operates on
Peer-to-Peer software you'll need to contact the game's administrators.
If is does, then we won't be able to offer any further assistance.
If the game doesn't use Peer-to Peer software, then it's possible that
our administrator's are managing this site in error. If this is the case
we can escalate this matter further for you.
If you've any further queries then please don't hesitate to get in
contact with us again.
Best Regards
