Hi everyone.
I have a tricky situation, I'm currently using a laptop using an integrated Intel HD 4600 GPU and a dedicated GTX 765M GPU.
I've been playing FFXIV since EA and I haven't really had performance issues with it. However, I've noticed that in the Configuration settings, I only seem to be able to choose the Intel HD 4600 as my main display.
I get around 30-50 FPS on fairly crowded FATEs and areas with Standard (Laptop) settings.
I'm not sure if the game is actually already using my GTX 765M and just not showing it in the in-game configuration, or if it's really not using the 765M at all.
I've done the following:
- Manually change the settings/option on my NVIDIA Control Panel to make sure that FFXIV uses the High-Performance GPU. No fix.
- Updated graphic drivers to beta 326.80 (latest) last night. No fix.
- Similar to point 1, I've tried doing the opposite. I changed the option for FFXIV to use the integrated GPU instead of the high-performance, and I noticed a huge FPS drop to about 1/3 of what it used to be. This is what made me think that the game was already using the 765M and just not showing it in the config.
So at the end of the day, I don't know whether the problem lies in either FFXIV in-game settings do not detect my 765M but is using it anyway or FFXIV doesn't detect and use my 765M at all.
I have not found a fix or confirmation for this at all, so I'd like to assume this is an in-game issue already.
