Their plan is to open up more worlds for people to roll on, hopefully fully implemented on the beginning of this week. While this makes some sense it doesn't make complete sense since their main issues (or perhaps the loudest issues) are on the world's that already exist, namely that each world can only handle a meager 5000 concurrent connections at a time. Only 5k people online at a time, that's it. With no AFK timer implemented. Wat.jpg
I was speaking with a friend yesterday, who was also extremely annoyed with this garbage of not being able to log in and he'd mentioned that they were supposed to expand this number of possible connections. However, in the apology/explanation letter ( source: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...s-Restrictions ) this 5k logged-in issue wasn't mentioned to be expanded. Or maybe I just didn't understand it properly?
So basically from what I've gathered off this letter, is that they are going to open up new worlds and that will somehow alleviate the issues that the other worlds are having; Allowing the people who haven't even been able to make characters yet (twelve rest their tormented souls) will be able to go there instead. This, however, doesn't bode well for people who've been able to get in and already have an established character on one of these full servers unless they allow free transfers off for a week or two.
I'm personally sick and tired of getting the 2002/10102/1017/90000 errors but I really can't be persuaded to move my WAR off to a new server, despite secretly wishing I could, unless they allowed me to do it for free. I've seen a couple of angry or upset threads of people mentioning that they have friends/spouse/family on one server that they can't get on, and that they'd really rather not start alone on some different server.
I'm really curious what the rest of the community thinks of this situation.
