The duty finder can bring out all sorts. I always start duty finder activities by saying hello or explaining my experience, or rather lack there of. This is usually returned by blank stares and no conversation followed by people just porting out after loot is distributed. As a new player I would highly recommend finding a friendly free company. It could make the biggest difference in your gaming experience.

@OP, id say your probably an excellent healer, if youve already made it to 50 and have healed all the dungeons etc i take my hat off to you. I didnt really touch healing in 1.0 but started in 2.0 and although im doing ok im not doing brilliantly. Im having problems at the minute keeping a party alive on the story mode Garuda, and im not ashamed to admit it. Healing isnt an easy job, your eyes are constantly glued to hp bars, while you know youve also got to keep an eye on the battlefield, watch for aoe's etc, plus also on top of healing you have to constantly switch in and out of cleric stance to be able to at least dot targets. Oh and Sleep duty too, if theres no BLM in party its also your job to sleep. Dont be discouraged, your doing a great job! If DD's call you out, ask them to switch to WHM and show you how its done. Oh and shame on the other WHM for letting you carry them.
"Your former glories and all the stories, dragged and washed with eager hands..but oh your city lies in dust my friend!"
To be fair, you shouldn't join unless you have at least the 90 minutes free...

I knew the moment they said there was going to be a duty finder that this stuff would happen. Making the game more accessible also makes it more accessible to jerks.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to go along with some of the people in this thread and just pass up on the DF for a while so everyone settles down and stops being jerks.. think I'll go level up my gathering/crafting jobs for while, and maybe someday continue along with War/Magic jobs..
Can't get any experience with fights with people that expect you to have cleared it at least 40 times before and already have all the blue gear and ragequit when you die ONE time on a boss...

Nah dont give up. Just some people are ***holes doesnt mean everyone is.New player here, just got to 50, beat story, doing instances and dungeons.
So I enter a hard mode ifrit fight, which is easy, but the other healer kept healing with cleric stance and only used cure once in awhile and would stop it if he thought i was healing the person he was, while I did the heavy work.
Now that's not the problem. We had several wipes, I grew tired, there was nobody with aoe limit break for the nails so I said I'm tired and going to go.
<f**king moron, you need a nap>
<wow, pathetic>
<why'd you even join if you're tired dumb***>
...
I feel your pain, welcome to the Internet!
