I totally agree with you, funny enough I was sick of the game also, but I have changed a bit i'm willing to be patient and if the game doesn't work out so be it, my point is though lets try something new let the developers go with it!Everyone entitled to an opinion. Thats just... Life?
I am not angry but you thinking I am has me wondering about your OP and this thread which is that it seems you have a misunderstand (or misconception) of peoples posts and what may be considered just plain whining is mere badly constructive opinions.
The question is not too important here because the subject to it can be included in all aspects of the game. You could have flying barbie girls as your opinion, of course I would disagree but no one is going to say "Shut up you're not worthy of an opinion", I've yet to see that on the forum lol.
Edit:
One thing you can notice which you might be amplifying a little is that people are getting a little fed up. We were nice during Betas, and nice when there was no conclusion of the future, but now that there is, and that many other games and studios seem to be overwhelming SE, people are getting hasty, worried and edgy. Which results in the whole bad constructive opinions and then just general bickering.
Some people seem to forget that we've had this game publically for almost almost 15 months now (march2010 I think Alpha was?). Its been a long time and looking at the changes it is not too nice.
I find it sad how the forums turned into such a mess in a day. o.o
All this fighting and clash of opinions, such a negative feeling. But looking in-game, most people I see are so happy with the update and NMs.
We've been busy all day hunting NMs and adventuring and getting items for our linkshell members and are really happy.

What I feel is going on in the forums is 11 mourning. I think alot of players haven't really transitioned to 14 yet. They want the feel of 11 back. I think it's going to be better then 11 eventually. Noone likes grinding from scratch. I think the so called hard - corers are the 11 players wishing for this game to be 11. Until they rank up their jobs and SE introduces rank 75 and endgame they are going to keep whining. The way I look at it the forums are an outlit for them.

Considering that what worked with your "PREVIOUS MAJOR MMORPG" worked several years before and the market has evolved radically in tose years, that's a simplistic solution that would lead to surefire failure.
If FFXI was launched now, it'd bomb. It's that simple.
Mind you, the very reason why FFXIV is in the current state, is exactly because SE DID take "what worked" with FFXI. Meaning launching a game when it's not finished, extending the free period with apologies on top, and then picking up from there.
Oh I agree, a basic search system, a basic linkshell ("guild") system that has a lot more functionality, basic fame systems, basic, yet effective party system where all classes actually work in their own means would surely be bad for any MMO that's released today.
Yet XIV has not even that.
You mean exactly like FFXI at launch?Oh I agree, a basic search system, a basic linkshell ("guild") system that has a lot more functionality, basic fame systems, basic, yet effective party system where all classes actually work in their own means would surely be bad for any MMO that's released today.

They indeed learned from FFXI. Unfortunately it's not a good thing as you may assume.
Good post, I blame the mods they need to be more aggressive and less tolerant.
Unfortunately SE comes from a past of lack of commuication. They're trying to change that image, and they are applying excessively lax moderation policies to try and avoid to look like they are "censoring" opinions.
