if you use a credit card for the purchase, straight up and dispute the charge as a double charge mistake by the merchant, not you. your credit card company may/may not ask you to submit documents as proof that one copy of the product you bought was sent by the merchant, not two. if it's bank of america, they will. chase on the other hand doesn't. then its your credit card company against SE.
Thanks guys. All really good advice. I plan on taking it up with my bank today and hoping that I get credited back for the Aug 30 purchase. I will also try to get ahold of digital river to see why in the heck they wanted to bill me twice for the game. The company I currently back with is a TD bank of Canada, and their debit/credit cards are handled by Visa.
