Ps3 Version didn't meet my expectations

I've played the game on PC and loved the graphics. Everything in this game looked so wonderful.. And now I also purchased the ps3 version. I knew that the graphics would be worse than on PC, but what I saw when I started the game left me speechless. It is the worst looking PS3 game I've ever seen. It does look like PS2 graphics and I'm not exaggerating. I've read some review that said that the graphics were looking remarkably well. And I really don't get it. I would like to point out that I usually don't care about the graphics, it's what matter the least to me in a game. However, this is just unplayable. Now I'm wondering, maybe something is wrong with my TV and it would look different on another screen? That would actually be weird, since I also played the PC version on the same screen.
Can you guys tell me your impressions about the ps3 graphics?

I just did some googling and browsed some forums. There are people like me who think that the game looks like a ps2 game. Others swear it looks very nice, almost like FF13. And that's what I don't get. How can this be? My TV is HD, connected with a HDMI cable. How can you explain such extreme differences in peoples perception of the graphics?

Does the PS3 have resolution options? If so, have you verified you are at the higher resolution?

I play on both PC and ps3, while the ps3 is not as good looking as a PC on Max settings, the OP is exaggerating greatly. But even if he weren't, ps2 graphics arent bad depending on the game lol

lol.. well, yeah... PC will be better with 1080p when the console version doesn't support it....which may be the root of this player's problem. Seem to recall XIV was limited to 720p on the PS3.

I play the PC version at max settings, and my friend plays the ps3 version right beside me and the PC version is by far better than ps3.

It was a much needed step up from FFXI, graphics wise.
