Will there be new legacy servers?

Hello, I was hoping someone could confirm this... But will there be new legacy servers? I have several friends waiting to get on to my server, but it\\'s locked. ( I think all legacy are). I really want to play this game with my friends but I dont want to start over and make a new character. My friends have already been waiting over a week and while the news of more servers and upgrades is heartening I\\'m afraid that Legacy is not included.

If square waits too long to fix this, I\\'m afraid me and or my friends will lose interest in this game, I waited before because I knew the game was being remade and told my friends to wait until then, as an mmorpg it\\'s main appeal for me is to play with friends and other people.

Se I hope you don\\'t take legacy players for granted, while I may have waited for you the first time, I can\\'t promise I can wait again. This really needs addressing as I know I\\'m not the only legacy player being affected by this now.

Further questions : If a new legacy server was created , when could we transfer? What about the status of the transfer system? Many people such as my friends have up waiting and made characters on EU and JP servers, a new world means nothing now without the transfer system. And will that system be instant or include some kind of wait? Will legacy players be stuck in legacy servers ? Will my friends I. New servers be able to transfer to the legacy servers?

No idea if there will be more Legacy servers, but honestly at this point i think they should just let any one go anywhere... i understand they were playing it safe since 1.0 was so bad but now they can definitely throw the rest of their eggs in the basket >.>

You'll probably have wait until the character creation lock is lifted or until legacy players can transfer to non-legacy servers.

As for your second question: "World transfer service is scheduled to begin mid-September. An announcement will be made on The Lodestone at that time." Legacy characters will still be stuck on legacy servers for the moment, but characters on new servers will be able to transfer to legacy servers.

It had nothing to do with the quality of 1.0. Some people treat MMOs like a race and therefore don't want to start on a server where half of the playerbase already has several jobs at max level and a couple million gil. The latter would obviously also influence the economy and might put new players at a disadvantage or at least mess with the balancing.

Long story short: There's going to be a lot of whining if they let legacy players transfer this early.

I dont think so. I wouldnt anyway. Legacy players are set ... there wont be any more than whats already there. Im sure once new server are out and people start migrating the current Legacy servers will ease up on the whole login/creator issues. That and Legacy isnt as popular and a new only server.

I meant that they wouldn't spend money on a plethora of new servers without knowing it would be needed, so on the business side they were playing it safe not spending excess money.
