    Don't be narrow visioned...it could be a completely different game mechanic - don't think in terms of regular combat but maybe a side game sort of thing, maybe certain battlefields in the game where you're pit against mobs that are themselves mounted...I dunno I think it has potential. Its not high on my priority list but if there's time for it I think down the road it'd be awesome to be honest.

    Yeah, it would need to be done well or simply not at all to be worth it.

    What i meant by lazy is teleport + chocobos, mostly with people asking to be able to summon them anywhere on the map.

    @ magiksmurf (lol... smurfs....) anyway... chocobo riding is pretty much an ff thing. Kinda like a rite of passage. Seeing squall and cloud on chocobo was epically funny. More so squall since he had an early 90s biker look.

    Plus on everyine ff they use the same tune just different styles. Like one had a carribean/surfer theme. ff11 had a whimsical flute style. hmm ima need to find that vid and post it.
    I like ff14 choosen style kinda rock but still whimsical.

    I wouldn't mind that I liked doing it in past ff games with the various chocobo. like the blue allowing to run on water etc. I can fully explore worlds no spam jumpers win win in my eyes

    I really hope it's a hard quest so the chocobo owners can have that status symbol to show off their rides. Even cooler would be that if all the color variations had their own harder quest to them instead of breeding. (lord knows breeding is too deep of a system for XIV players who need arrows and map markers for everything)

    There will never be quests to obtain skills, maps or pass keys so please don't waste this goal by making it free.

    Implementation of chocobo can really open a variety of "new" gameplay elements to the game. I think the use of it should be limited fo the first levels, until 15-20. Some ideas,

    - you can rent it from lv 10 to 20, for a (very) limited amount of time. A normal one, without abilites or stuff (you could be attacked and dismounted from particular mosters, like the flying ones).

    - from lv 20, you can rise a baby-choco (egg obtained by a special chain-quest). Or buy an adult one. You can give it a name (not from a list pls! ). You can call it in every moment with a whistle item.

    - your chocobo will have levels (baby= 1-5; young=5-20; adult=20-max). Every levels it can increase HP and other stats (customizable allotment). At different levels, it can acquire new abilities/traits. At a certain level, it can partecipate to the war at the front (PvE Companies content.. campaign against Garlean?).

    - you can customize it in every aspect: equip, abilities, color, etc.:

    * color = this can be done during the baby-choco period of raising (with particular food or 'training').

    * equip = you can equip your choco:
    armours (to fight on mount and to have a greater chance to not be dismounted by a mob attack);
    bags (to add more inventory space, usable with choco presence only);

    * abilities = your choco can acquire (by training) or buy (from special vendor, with some sort of tokens) some abilities/traits, like:
    jump (to reach high places..maybe it could have 1-3 levels of jump);
    dig (to search for items and gil);
    war-choco (it can attacks enemies.. in that case it can be equipped with iron-beak parts and stuff);
    charge (it can charge an enemy causing more damage, only if in a right distance);
    sprint (increases speed for 30 sec or so.. 1-3 levels also here);
    messanger (you can send items to another player mailbox or house if any, depend on chocobo bag space. In that short period -15mins?- your chocobo will be unavailable).


    And so on. Btw, there are so MANY possibilities that it could be a game in the game (like housing eheh).

    If they dont implement them to be mountable steeds expect huge rage from the community, I would hope they put armor slots for chocobos and bag slots so we have extra inventory space. If they did that I would be happy and anything else is a bonus.

    they not gonna remove anime I don;t think as there is lore with it. (using the tekeports stress our body out etc. Or else it wouldn't have been added in the first place and just charge ppl gil to teleport like in ffxi with opw.

    But I can't wait to see how the chocobo animations look :3 and the song is awesome.
