    You should start having to raise your chocobo at R1, and you get milestone quests (R7 R15, R20, R25), and you finally get your chocobo.

    I am in first line for this. We need chocobos actively present in the world and stating a reason for it would be insulting to their awesomeness. We need to use them. We need to say "Hey, i'm on the chocobo already, will be there soon!" or "It's far. Let's use a chocobo!"

    Not having chocobos is game-breaking, deal-breaking, heart-wrenching. This won't be anything more than a bad alpha until they are implemented properly. (i know it's silly, but that's how i feel about it)

    Raising chocobos: a tedious system to plan and implement, would bet we wont see it before an year from now.

    I want it.

    Mounted chocobo combat: unless it's already in the works, we won't see it for a very long time as well, it's probably quite tricky to implement.

    I really want it.

    Introduce chocobo as method of animaless transportaton for a fee.

    Make chocobo raising next, I'm not a fan of the ran away bit, but have initial costs of raising/breeding chocobos be expensive, but with the potential of differences/equipment to give it be high(add more recepies later on).
    Whistle to summon it as your trusty steed! Include dig for special items!

    Last,(once everything ironed out, and the arena in uldah is set up) have pvp content for all three cities. Or one sport per city. Triple triad(or cards) in LL, arena in Uldah, and Chocoracing in Gridania!

    I dunno about combat however. Perhaps only a specific weapon can do it, then there's the issue of getting mobs to render in the time it take for a chocobo to arrive.

    I think they could easily devote entire sidequests to chocobos.

    At the very least, I'd like to see a series of quests needed to get it. At the most, chocobo raising sounds really fun.

    No, your idea is bad, that would ruin the game and make the world feel small and boring.

    I hope they remove anima if they are going to add chocobos and airships, or else traveling is too fast/easy :/

    I totally agree with you.
    Not knowing how or where they will implement raids and dungeons though, I would like to remove Teleportation when they implement chocobos - which should be obtainable earliest at r35 in my opinion (the others camps are rather fast to run to), and airships - which would require a quest/series of quest to unlock.

    One additional asset could be to grant mages the possibility to teleport a party to one of the three major cities, so that the entire party could get teleported back to a main city - which also shoud be first at rank 35-40, so that dedicated mages would have it, and not everyone.
    An alternative to this, would be to have an airship ramp outside the instanced areas. This would ensure that players didn't have to/want to leave earlier so that they could make it back to town before loggin/going afk for the night.

    Yeah I'd love mages to have teleports too! ^-^ I always thought of anima as a "beta" thing, so we could travel quickly in beta before they added chocobos airships and real tranportation, having so many forms of transportation would totally ruin this game imo. Begone anima, come on real transports/teleport spells!

    I really like this idea. Would be silly if it was like "you're now rank #, have a chocobo". Seems alot more fun to do some small quest for it. Maybe even a chance to catch it or something

    On top of what you suggested TC (although I would like a fun quest for a Chocobo license similar to FFXI but not as arduous) I would like for Chocobos to have armor and some game mechanic involved with them in combat I think would be great - but combat or otherwise, I still want them to wear armor. I would also not mind raising your own Chocobo as long as its fun, I did not enjoy the FFXI one at all, I hate when a game mechanic is built in simply for extending the time sink, they need to think of fun first and foremost and not drag something out for the sake of dragging it out. A digging mini game would be cool but give it more depth and maybe not a hidden "level" this time around. Perhaps make some dungeon depths accessible through Chocobos only (i.e., Chocobo has to leap/fly to another cliff past some gap to get to some hidden locations) Jesus just make it *fun* no matter what you do.
