Register 'again' and lost my early-access character

So, I was surprised today when my client asked me for my registration code.

The early-access code I used since I bought the game on Sunday had already been used but luckily I'd got the disk in the post and used the code which came with that.

As these were both used with the same account details (email/password) I assumed these would be connected. But when I log in I get a choice of game "service accounts" '1' which crashes the client - saying my paltform is wrong, which is odd because it has always been windows - and '2' which sends me to an empty character screen.

Where did my early-access character go? How do I get her back? She's obviously linked to my account somehow because I could pick her when I registered for the forum just now - what's going on?

EDIT: just checked on mog and I apparently officially now have two accounts - and the early access one is "inactive"
