    Free Days coming!

    I'd like to post this on the thread that exists... I can't so here it is;

    Just a couple of things I spotted while reading here.

    On the whole it was good to read what the Producer is thinking regarding the issues we're having. However, a few things jumped out at me while I was reading the official translation.

    1) The reason people didn't jump all over 1.0 was partly due to the game, but also (and I was one of these people) because the specs for the game required a gaming rig that was almost the best you could buy at the time of launch which many couldn't afford. By the time I actually owned a machine that could run FFXIV v1.0 half way decently (according to the official benchmark software) due to computers getting cheaper, they were already at the point of preparing to close down v1 in prep for v2.

    2) No wonder I can't /tell people I've played with through Duty Finder... they're on a completely different world most of the time. Any chance of making that clearer to the community?

    3) If the Stress Test beta phase was inconclusive, it's almost a certainty that the reason for that is the short amount of time people had to get their codes registered and get into the game. Given the problems people had on the preliminaries of getting into the final beta, why was the stress test not extended until such time as the preliminary stages had been ironed out (and give you ample time to spot that the code registration web sites would be grossly overwhelmed when the time came and fix it before it became a customer relations issue for EA)?

    4) Given that the Group finder deals with groups of servers to get a group together, cross play across servers is already a fact of life. Therefore, why is it that the servers have been designed as they are (1 World = 1 Server, 1 Group finder = group of worlds/servers) as opposed to simply having 1 world running on several servers for all to play on (making fixing the issue a hell of a lot easier as you can add servers to the farm once installed and tested while running instanced starting cities to spread the load)? There are games out there that do this already and even give you the option to switch instances so you can meet up with friends. EDIT: Hmm Another thought, what happens when the Duty finder tries to group people together when they have the same name which would be possible as they play on different servers?
