First off I would like to say thank you for the fun patch. The quality of the NMs and even the names give off a final fantasy feeling. My friends and I are having some fun when playing with them and seeing things like a party of mid 30s camping them as well, this patch was an overall success to many it seems. The population on my server has clearly risen a lot since the patch and there are people around being active in all the cities.
But it has come to my attention that the new NMs are dropping pieces of crafted equipment that can be sold to the NPC for decent amounts of gil. Although the intentions behind the non unique equipment drops and its rates are nice, I and a few others are now seeing many RMT thaumaturge characters bot away on doblyns for the purpose of ranking up. Please reconsider how these crafted equipments drop at such a good rate or at all. I do not wish to combat RMT claim bots when trying to hunt down a specific NM good while they are interested in the constant gil drops. They are using battle bots very openly at popular camps even which I am interpreting this as them having good incentives to need higher ranking characters to increase the money making opportunities.
I can easily imagine to seeing RMT bots killing these new NMs with a thaumaturge and fighting with players for claims by the end of the month. The bots with Sar in their name on my server are already in the mid 30 ranks and slide across the screen reaching incredibly far distances to claim doblyns around. This huge range claim capability has me a bit concerned how well I would be able to fair at the NM camps in winning the pull. Even though competition is to be expected, it would be sad to see that anyone should have to fight against these bots nonstop until a player finally gets what he wants off the NM which could be a long time when they may be losing a significant number of claims to these bots that won't go away like a player would eventually.
As for the drop rates of the unique equipment pieces, I have experienced some dropping in as few as 6 battles, while some have been more rare at around 17 battles with the NM. This is pretty fair and with the short re-spawn times, I find myself in battle nonstop in hopes of the drop. Those who argued how claiming was exciting now can experience that feeling very often with the short re-spawn timers. I found my inventory filling quickly though with the crafted equipment drops and just sold them to the NPC for quite a bit of gil.
Overall it is a very good content patch pleasing many players but take a few words from Tanaka about RMT reactions to any system or content to the game that has money generating opportunities. They may create unpredicted issues which would hurt the quality of fun in the game to many and cause some players to leave the game for the wrong reasons. I can live without the constant equipment drops off the new NM seeing as they are not too difficult and the real reward for defeating them are all unique pieces.
Also bring back the STF soon, people are being really carefree about bots and not just the RMT. Seeing as the accounts are not paid to play for, cracking down on bots will only reduced bots and nothing more at the moment. A few more patches as good as this one will bring enough players back to let you afford banning the bots users we have all over playing now.
