Dragoons Cannot Roll On Scale Armor?

So I was doing a dungeon today and I noticed whenever scale armor would drop (armor type below heavy tank gear and above leather, pretty much for dragoons and lancers) and even though it says LNC and DRG as useable, and it's basically Dragoon's armor type, it would only only me greed. So of course the tank would need and win. Then of course plate armor in the same slots would drop and he would then win those too.

Is there a particular reason why DRGs can't roll on scale armor? I could understand if it was the heaviest type of armor and maybe SE wanted tanks to get their tank gear more easily, but it's not even the best tank gear. It has lower armor than plate and is all dps stats. This frustrating cause it means we have to roll on leather, which while fine for dpsing, the armor is nicer to have when soloing. Plus it means we take armor away from Monks and Bards. Seems pretty silly to me.

I had the exact same earlier, I remember it saying that it was unsuitable to my class but clearly had "LNC DRG" there and was perfect stats for a Lancer/Dragoon. Needless to say the tank ended up with it

There was a thread on this I read earlier, I think people said it is because it only can be needed by the class that has optimal use for it, in other words yeah you can wear it but the tank would probably benefit more so you can only greed.
That's just what I gathered from the conversation, as a DPS you would probably wear it for a shorter time because you upgrade a lot for better damage stats and what not.

Not saying I agree with that, I think if it has LNC on it we should be allowed to need, but there you go..

No. This gear has stats geared towards damage. Not parry, etc. LNC/DRG is SUPPOSED to be able to wear scale, but apparently no one told the loot system that.

I've been noticing that too. My bigger question is, does DEX do anything for a LNC/DRG, as the scale type armours don't have it. I know DEX deals with ranged physical damage, and I'm wondering if DEX affects the jumps or Piercing Talon. If so, then it would make sense why leather is needed more than scale.

I have had a similar thing happen on my Marauder with plate that clearly said MRD on it. I wasn't able to need roll on it . So I doubt its just Dragoons but a loot bug in general.

I would recommend taking a screen shot of it next time and reporting it as a bug.

Also try to include anything that might help them look into the issue such as: what dungeon, what class/job you were on, and what time it happened at.

AFAIK LNC/DRG gain nothing from the DEX on gear, so it really makes no sense that we can't roll Need on it in an instance. Plus, it's already terrible enough using the Duty Finder as a DPS class, the last thing we need is more reasons to favor tanks (I say that as someone who switches between LNC and MRD fairly regularly).

I had the same thing happen to me in Halatali last night. I did not actually need the gear that dropped because it was not as good as what I was wearing, but it was LNC/DRG was listed as able to use. I could only greed on it.

I didn't think much of it at the time, but there are a few things that got me thinking today. I queued as a Drg, but the instance was capped at 25. The Drg job is not available till lvl 30, and I am not sure if that caused the instance to confuse things?

This is... Weird.
Because Scale Armor is quite literally THE Lancer Armor, lighter than Tank armor, but too havy for any other DD armor. It even goes "GLA, MRD, LNC" on it and has DD stats.
This might be an unintended side-effect of the changes to the looting rules
