At least for PC, it has to do with connection speed, not PC speed. It's simply unreasonable to expect a connection to be able to transfer that many packets at once (location of EVERYTHING, data of EVERY PLAYER, every companion, minion, etc., AND monster data). Guild Wars 2 had the same issue in large scale WvWvW fights. There's too many people, too many things for the game to keep track of over a network connection, and as a result it loses data. A lot of it. The problem is that the game isn't putting priority on the packets that pertain to monsters, but instead companions and minions.
The most likely reason this isn't fixed yet is because it probably requires a complete rework of the networking code. It's a lot of work. Doesn't make it acceptable, of course, but just pointing it out.
When they start billing us; all the more reason to complain.
Yea... it's not a data issue. It's a design issue. EVE online can render 3000+ ships together all shooting lasers and missiles at each other yet it's still playable client side. GW2 no longer has this issue because they got rid of it when they made optimization to fix their shitty design. At least for PC, it has to do with connection speed, not PC speed. bump... i completely agree with this one. this issue is becoming quite the hinderance.
SE this is a wake up call. Your about to start your 1st billing cycle and quite frankly I doubt I'm going to sign up.
Due to the sheer large number of FATE grinds at level 38+ forward... It's impossible for PS3 users to gain the same amount of experience as a PC user.
I can tell you this from facts. I currently play PS3 and my friend on PC . He averages 22k exp Svara Coerthas Central Highlands. I get 2k if I am lucky. Let me put it this way. Why would anyone want to pay to not be able to play. I watched my friend level up twice as fast as me.
How is this fair ? He is doing lvl 50 dungeons waiting on me to catch up.... I keep telling him I cant.. Monsters wont load for me.
He feels bad for me.. and says That SUX. I blame PS3 for junk Hardware.. He makes a point though.. It's SE fault for allowing it to be sold on PS3 broken.
The game being on PS3 was just a fulfilled promise; wasn't ideal. It will be much better on the PS4 given more (slightly better tech) RAM and roughly 2 Teraflops of processing power. Not exactly on par with some 4-8 Teraflop high-spec PC's but it will suffice to play this game.
I can't tell you how important it is that this game badly needs to be on PS4 because it has no future on PS3... A wasted investment.
The problem that will remain after PS4 comes out is the stress on the servers and network latency when being in these populated zones. That is up to SE to find a solution to.
"Even after the darkest of nights, morning always comes."
Now that my character is in the 40s I am looking to FATEs to help boost me up to max level. However, that is impossible to do when a monster won't load on my screen. I first noticed it when in the Coerthas area. I'm guessing because the area is so large and filled with so many people. But in particular I attempted the behemoth fate and also the Odin fate today. I saw nothing but the monster's special effects. For information purposes I am playing on a ps3 and have all other player effects turned completely off. What's more insulting is the only time Odin WOULD load on my screen is after he had already killed me. What sense does that make? Please fix it square enix! I don't care about the other player's characters. I'm not a healer. I don't need to see them
The only FATEs I have problems with are Odin and Behemoth. When Odin spawned it was like the entire map had frozen all I could see were aoe's I got close enough to be one shot by a ghost, Behemoth wasn't really any better but atleast could see people moving around although, still got close enough to be killed and couldn't see a thing. This game really needs the option to lower the priority on pc, or limit the amount of pc you see onscreen.
Still nothing from SE regarding this.. what a bunch of BS. Screw this I got other things to play.. GTAV seems like a perfect solution to my problems.
The sheer horror of having to watch 15 chocobo butts in my face during FATES instead of killing monsters is a hard thing to erase from ones mind.
Thanks alot SE.
