...is a fairly good outline on how a lot of people I've talked to feel about fates.
When Dynamic Content Isn't Dynamic
The State of F.A.T.E.: Issues and Suggestions for FATEs
It would be nice to see something fresh. PvE can get dull fairly quickly, so seeing the same thing as the last few MMOs I just played is a little disappointing.
It would also be nice to see scaling events. As in, the events get more difficult the more people you have. That way you have less of the problem of not even having a chance to hit anything more than once. Especially on my current class: Running around on cnj/whm/sch and throwing up a dot on every mob you see isn't exactly my idea of fun.
Not sure if it gets better in higher levels (I'm around 30), but there's no room for healing either since there may be one person with less than 90% of their health. Perhaps events will even out if they decide to fix the exp in dungeons and stuff.
Thoughts?
Edit: I have yet to see any acknowledgement on whether or not they're planning to alter exp in dungeons. One of the reps had mentioned something about potentially upping rewards from trash, but nothing other than that which was a bit disappointing.
On a side note, I decided to try out the whole FATE grind in hours outside of NA prime, and it's actually kind of nice. Fewer people, less catches, and a lot less rushing around to make sure you don't miss an event. However, I did get bored with it pretty quickly. I don't understand how people level this way.
However, we did find that chain-killing things is a good way of leveling, despite what people have said. If you have a good group (and full party) with a few tanks, a few healers, and 4 or so dps, you can rake in a bunch of mobs and just grind for a while. It's hard to find groups to do it, but it's kind of something we were waiting on some friends to go do dungeons. Especially when you have a good blm to limit break.
