Linked account failure. Then error: A problem has occured while updating. PS3.

    Greetings,

I was hoping somone here could help me. Maybe someone has gone through this aswell. This will probably be a long post so I thank anyone in advance for reading through this.

After I install the game from the disc, it asks me to link my PSN account, (so to confirm my purchase information) I click next. Then I get this error:
    "The server is not responding.
For assistance with this issue, please visit the SQUARE ENIX Support Center.
    http://sqex.to/x4w
    [11070][-2140073976]"

When I persist and manage to get past this point (which I have read solved the PS3 problem for some people) then all seems fine, I see the launcher and then it starts to update client. It is a 2.5GB update, I let this download and then the system shuts down.

Now here is the problem that I can't seem to get past.

When I reload the client, arrive back at the launcher, it begins updating a second time. "Downloading ffxiv - 2013.08.20.0000.0001" - 750.64 MB

Towards the end of this I keep gettings this strange error:
A problem has occured while updating.
Please restart FINAL Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (Beta Version).
    [11006][20641][20643]

This is so confusing because i'm installing of the disc directly, not from a beta client, I don't understand why it's updating in such a way.

    ---->I reformatted my whole PS3
----> erased all data then reinstalled from disc,
----> went through linked account error, then get to launcher on second try,
----> downloaded 2.5GB client update, then PS3 system turns off
----> re-open client, launcher downloads 750.64MB client update then gives me that last error. - (tried this whole process 4 times)

Now if I keep restarting my PS3 and the client when i'm at the last step, it just keeps re-downloading the 750MB file -2013.08.20.0000.001. then shows it respective error.

I've tried getting technical support with Square Enix just to get an automated email basically saying that my request will not be addressed and to create yet another ticket.
So I thought I would try here.

If anyone here has gone through this, or knows of a fix, I would greatly appreciate the assistance.

    Thanks again,
    Jani Wolf

Did you remove previous beta copies?! Try clear out the FFXIV:ARR data from Saved Data PS3, and obviously delete the FFXIV:ARR... Reinstall from disc. The version that I know of is 2013.08.27.0000.0001

Yeah I have formatted my PS3 4 times now, everything wiped including any beta version and the Saved Data. Tried reinstall from disc, after format aswell.
The version you mentioned (2013.08.27.0000.0001) is the one I was expecting. but after the disc reinstallation and linking my account, it just keeps downloading 2013.08.20.0000.0001 and then fails towards the very end with error:

A problem has occured while updating.
Please restart FINAL Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (Beta Version).
    [11006][20641][20643]

I don't know why it keeps linking my full version game to a beta update.

PS: My PS3 registration code was successfully applied to my SE account, I saw that on the Mog station website.

I've called SE about this 3 times now.

First time they said they had never encountered this problem before and that a supervisor will send a solution via email. That email never arrived.
Second time they suggested turning on Javascript and enabling cookies, both were already on and still didn't work after I tried fresh reinstallation.
Third time, they speculated a hard drive corruption. Suggested filling up that "portion" of hard drive with other games and files, then installing FFXIV incase the FFIV installation was in the corrupt section of the hard drive.

I wiped my hard drive, then installed about 3GB worth of games, then installed FFXIV.
Re-launched the game. Still got the same damned error during update. SE claims to have never encountered this and they don't know a fix (well not the technicians I spoke with anyway).

I'm also playing on the PS3 and it looks like your client is trying to upgrade with an older version. After I linked my accounts, it downloaded the 2.5 GB update, but that was it. I've been playing the game fine (When I can get in of course) without problems. Let them know it's trying to push an older update and see if they can do something about it.

I'm also using a digital copy. Maybe there's a problem with the physical copies...?
