I think you need to put this in bug report forum. It seems there are a few of us with the same problem. I've seen multiple post. I made a post in the in-game bug section earlier, if you want to try bumping my post:

Hey guys, I've fixed my problem. The way I fixed it was to log in on a different computer, and then log back in to your original computer. I still have no idea what caused it, but at least it is a quick fix.
Really? That sucks cause I don't have another computer to put FF14 on. There is a maintenance today so maybe that will fix it. ^^ Let me know if your fix lasts.
The sprites and animations work for me. I wouldn't say that the issue is your game data, because the data gets checked every time it is used. Are you on PC or PS3? You might have a graphics problem that is preventing the rendering of higher level animations, or a setting that is disabling them.
I'm on PC, using a Radeon 4870. Not sure about any option that may be disabled. I have catalyst on the default setting and the drivers are up to date.
Got it working! Well i just downloaded frameworks 4.5 and installed it. After that is done, I ran the windows updater and check for update. After all the frameworks updates finished it will ask for a reboot. Logged into FF14 and everything works great! I can even put my graphics back on High with no lag now. =). My cut scenes used to freeze for short periods of time, but that's all fixed now too. =) This feels like a whole new game. Super excited! Hopefully this can help some others too. ^^
