    If you're one of the people defending the current state of the game, you need to stop and think about one simple fact. I can tell you from personal experience, if you own a movie theater, you can't sell more tickets than you have seats. Period. They knew exactly how many people each server can hold. They knew exactly how many servers they have, and they kept selling digital copies significantly beyond that number.

    This wasn't the result of what the producer said (a pleasant surprise). They saw this happening, and they let it continue because people were giving them money.

    If you are one of the people complaining about the current state of the game and you need to stop and think about aone simple fact... they posted everything we need to know. There is a sticky from yoshi P on how they are fixing the servers when the new hardware should be in place and when we can expect to see restrictions lifted, also a post about how they are giving us free time to make up for this week of down time for "SOME" people. So either stop being a baby and wait till the supposed fix is in place.. or get a refund.

    For example. You buy a video card doesnt work you call the manufacture up the warranty requires RMA so you have to ship it out and get it fixed and they ship it back. If you dont want wait to have it fixed you can get a refund from the store you bought it at. This is the same thing here. Tomany people purchased digital copies of the game and FAR more legacy people returned then expected. So data centers could not hold the load.... its not a 20min fix to upgrade the servers. Its a company they have to get approvals for the expense of purchasing new hardware, then they have to purchase and have the new hardware shipped, then installed, then loaded with the game data, then internally tested for stability. This isnt something thats gonna be done in just a few days.... Grow up and relax till its fixed or get a refund your choice.

    Lol, airlines do it all the time and you should see the volcanic eruptions that go off when people get put on the wait list ... makes this forum look like a little girl's tea party.

    I am okay with waiting until Wednesday this week as I will not start getting billed until Saturday. If it is not resolved before the bill date I will simply cancel recurring payment until SE gets their act together. I would also encourage others to do the same: speak with your wallets, not your keyboard.

    Wtf is wrong with you people who defend these actions? Are you seriously going to apologize for a multi-BILLION dollar corporation, with more than $125 million in revenue, when they act like this is just an honest mistake, and they were so shocked by the overwhelming response to XIV's launch?

    Case in point: The best comparison we have of what SE has done to its customers is with what the airline companies have done for decades. Enough. Said.


    Edit: Meanwhile, it's 12:40 AM on a MONDAY in Japan, and I can't log on to Ridill. Unable to populate JP character blahblahblahblah. Stellar work, Yoshi-P, simply awe inspiring.

    Your tone seems pointed. Why are you so angry? There's a difference between defending them and having patience..

    It's not the first time MMORPGs have had difficulties with servers in the first couple of weeks. This is pretty mild in comparison to some. Do you remember WoW/Anarchy Online/ Diablo 3/ Aion? Some of those games NO one could play for days.

    I allowed to say I hated FFXIV 1.0 - but the second I say I don't mind waiting for them to fix the servers for FFXIV:ARR, I'm labeled a crazy SE fanatic. I would rather have server issues for a bit than a bad game.

    the fact of hte matter is your fucking complaining isnt gonna fix the servers faster.... I'm not defending them i just understand the situation. shit broke they are fixing it, its gonna take a bit to fix. here is what we gonna do for your wait give you a free week of game time maybe even more!!! what else do you want from them.... chill out kid and see what the real world is like.

    At first I really didn't care cause I play on a legacy server so it didn't really affect me (yeah, selfish), but now that the japanese servers are broken it really its grating.

    I work for a company headquartered in Japan. Whenever there is an issue, the response is always the same. "We are very sorry for the trouble it has caused; we are doing everything we can to rectify the issue." or "We are looking into the issue and will take your suggestions under advisement." These all translate into, "Yeah, we know about the problem. STFU and let us figure out how to solve it. We would've come to the same conclusions as you eventually anyway, so why can't you wait?"
    I hate to say it, but their answers are patronizing and condescending. Experience has shown that the over-politeness is really a cover for their true feelings. I'm sure they are sitting over their working as hard as they can thinking how stupid we are for disrespecting their perfect vision. The game is exactly the way they intended it to be and we peons should be happy they even made a game that they allowed us to purchase. We need to wait for them; and if the peons complain, then we will save face and apologize. It is the same rhetoric over and over again. "Please understand, this is Square-Enix."
