LNC/DRG Can't Roll Need

Steps: Run a dungeon, when a piece of armor that has DPS stats and can be worn by LNC/DRG drops, try to roll need, error mesaage stating that the "Class" you are using does not correspond to that pice of gear.

Note: The way to replicate this bug is easy. Create a lancer and attempt to do a dungeon that drops armor with GLA/PLD/MRD/WAR/LNC/DRG specifications. You will see that the Need is greyed out and the error message when you try to click it states you cannot roll because of "Class" and not "Role". If you cannot replicate this on a low level dungeon then try it on a higher level dungeon as the first time I really noticed the issue was in Brayflox.

lots of gear can be set for DoW but be primarily for Tanking, like if it has parry on it or something its generally meant for MRD WAR GLA or PLD. they did this so that the accessories could not be needed by everyone if they were meant for a certain class since most accessories are all classes.

This is not a bug. Please stop trying to need on tank gear. Dragoons are not tanks. Just because you can equip it does not mean that your class/job needs it.

please see virtually all level 50 gear where "tanks" can no longer obtain scale mail class armor because it is LNC/DRG equipable only, and they can only obtain tank gear which is the "heavy mail" class...

If our class is listed on the piece of gear then we should be able to need on it. There are specific pieces of tank gear meant for tanking that omit DRG/LNC. The scale mail pieces that we cannot roll on generally do not have parry on them. Str, Vit, and Dex/Crit/Acc/Det, are the typical stats.

Seriously this is like telling a DPS DK, paladin, war, etc. in WoW not to need on plate because plate is for tanking.

If LNC/DRG is capable of wearing mail, then they should be able to roll need on it plain and simple. Again, this is why there is tank gear that excludes LNC/DRG from the list of classes/jobs.

I ask again, is this getting fixed? Please don't come in here saying it's not a bug, because honestly unless you work for Square-Enix, you'd only be speculating at best.

While i agree on you about the fact that if a LNC/DRG can wear it, we should be able to need on it, the WoW reference is very accurate. Me having played WoW before, This happens more than you would think. But the fact of the matter is that in WoW, they don't classify gear as Tank/DPS/Healer like they do with FFXIV. But also at the same time, if you are a DPS and Tank gear drops, if you can need/greed it, but the tank also needs it, just out of courtesy and after knowing how the community works with it, most people let the tank have priority on it.

If you've read anything about the game. Gear is divided in game based on being tank/dps/healer. it's the name that determines this, not necessarily the stats and who can wear it.

I've also encountered this problem, submitted a bug-report and was shut down to "insufficient information" despite using the template and including everything relevant.

But, on topic, if the gear is separated based on name to be doled out to tank/dps/healer, then the classes listed that are able to wear it should be colored differently to reflect this. Example-->Calvary gear at Brayflox. Can be used by all tanks and lancer/dragoon, but lnc/drg cannot roll need. Have the lnc/drg a different color from the other classes. Easily quell the masses.

However, when a piece of gear drops that has determination, crit strike, and skill speed on it, and a lancer or dragoon cannot roll need on it because it's classified as tank gear is screwy and needs to be addressed.
