    Role in SP grind

So I was grinding on some efts in tam tara as 31 THM with a GLD, CON and ARC and they were doing a BR so I was free to heal and do as much damage as I could. And here\\'s my question: What spells are going to yield me the highest damage?

DoT (Poison, Bio, Dia) and Banish/Scourge + Blood Rite are your main sources of damage, though I would put priority on the DoTs. Just get a rotation going and try to keep at least two DoTs up at a time. You might as well throw in Paralyze whenever it's up while you're at it. Thm isn't about big numbers...but if you keep a close eye on the mob's hp bar, you will see that Thm damage really adds up.

Your main source of damage later will be Shadowsear, but you have a while to wait for that one.

Yeah. DoT's are a great sourge of damage specilly when you face a "long" battle.

I didn't play FFXIV after the patch but before the mobs could resist easily to DoT's and have a big loss of MP. I hope they fix that a lil'bit.

I have a good rotation with 2 sets of macro's. I start with a macro that casts poison II, bio II, and dia II. Then I toss up a heal and mash the second macro that consists of paralyze, slow, and blind. While dot's are up as long as I don't have to heal I use blood rite II and then toss a shadowsear, bainsh II, and scourge II. I'm only rank 48 but with this combo I can pretty much take care of any party, and take out nm's.

Didn't someone do a Thaum study and find that Phantom dart was still the best DPS?

Edit: Found it.. tons of reading... but an interesting read nonetheless. A ton of parsed data and analysis

If you're grinding efts, you should be killing them fast and taking about 30-45 seconds on average. In fast battles, nukes are more effective than dots. Just put in a profundity + banish at the end of the battle regimen for massive damage.

No doubt this will garner some "dood ur doing it wrong"s, but in SP grind @ THM34, since mobs die so quickly I usually equip Invigorate and Siphon TP plus two short cooldown weaponskills (Damnation and Levinbolt) and go nuts with the rest of the group on TP and Battle Regimens.

Seems by far to be the fastest, and much more satisfying than constantly having the mob die when I'm 90% through a nuke cast.

    Actually dood you (Found It!)

Darts dots and (mana)bolts are my main source of dmg, chainspell shadowsear is good, otherwise, just shadowsear is still sweet (every 3 min)

I dont equip banish or scourge.... dots wear to fast, and between tanking doting curing darting and Levinbolt2ing, i wouldnt have time/mp to do it. Yes mp is easy to get, but not always. Especially if you cant put weapon away.

*if stuff dies to fast you can swap dots for banish and scourge, but if they die that fast... just dart?
