    Registering PS3 version

I'm trying to figure out how to add the registration code for my PS3 (standard edition) game so that it will end up on the same service account that I created last week with the pre-registration code.

The product registration card says to add it at the member.square-enix.com site, but the only place I can find that it would even allow me to enter a code is under "Add New Game". I don't want to add a new game. I want to add a code to my existing game. It already lists FFXIV A Realm Reborn due to my having registered the pre-order last week, and that's the service account I want updated with the final full-game purchase code.

There is also a button on that site for "My FFXIV Codes", which I thought looked promising, but that only shows what codes we already have. In my case it just lists my Early Access Code for PS3. It does NOT provide a place to enter another code.

Confused by all this, and not wanting to accidentally add the purchase code as a new game (and therefore new service account without my early access characters), I tried searching through similar problems listed here in the forums. Most of them talk about adding codes through the Mog Station. I checked that out and, although it sees my account and characters, clicking the "Add Playstation 3 Service" button just brings up a message telling me that PS3 registration is not accessible through the Mog Station site, and those codes have to be added through the Sony Entertainment Network.

Well, the Sony Entertainment Network expects codes in Sony's format, which has the form XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. The registration card that came in the game has a code in Square-Enix's format of XXXXXX-000-XXXXXX-000. So I clearly need to register it at Square-Enix's site first. (For the pre-order, Amazon gave me a code in SE's format, and when I registered that, SE sent me a code in Sony's format.)

But that just leads me back to the initial issue of the SE site that only lets me add new games and not update the ones I already have. Should I just give up on the characters I spent the past few days developing and on my pre-order bonuses and just register it as a new game? Or is there some way to make this work correctly that doesn't involve spending hours on hold to get in touch with their overworked customer service department to get things merged together properly?

Had the same problem at first, took me 20 min to figure it out. If you bought a physical copy bull out the booklet and turn it over and there is a 12 digit code. Go to your redeem codes under account management on you ps3 and input code and your done. If you got a digital copy, well i can't help you.

Edit post is your friend. Also, not bulling anything is your friend. That sounds harsh and inappropriate.

Thanks. I figured there had to be something I was missing, but it didn't occur to me that the code on the Product Registration Card wasn't the one I needed. I hadn't thought to check the back of the little one-folded-page excuse for a booklet. Well, now at least Sony knows I bought the full game. Hopefully they'll let Square Enix know that I did.

OK, so when I next logged into the game after entering the 12-letter code into the PlayStation Network, the game prompted me on whether to add FFXIV Realm Reborn to my existing service account (that account clearly identified with its current features and my characters' names) or whether to create a new service account for it. With all the confusion elsewhere, it's nice that at least that page was clearly laid out (once I finally managed to get to it, that is).

So the only tricky part was figuring out that the obvious code on the registration card is in fact a red herring that has nothing to do with registering the game. You just need to find the other code in the right format and know to go to PSN to enter it.

The Product Registration 6-3-6-3 code is for Square-Enix Members (social profile) which is different from Square-Enix Account (SQEX) that use for FFXIV Service Account.
