Boo hoo dude. Legacy servers are nowhere near as congested. I can log on to my legacy character at any time and experience no lag. The people who need attention right now are the people on new servers.

Apparently Masamune is miraculously underpopulated. If you dc or crash in excalibur you might as well give up until either very late that night or very early in the morning... and even then you might not get in.
Could be worse I could be stuck not being able to log in.
Aegis is very populated but thankfully my playtime in generally in the low zone for activity on the server, I've never had a single issue trying to log in. I'm all for SE working on server congestion issues before working on something useless like Duty finder anyways. Make a few friends on your own server and viola no more need to even worry about Duty finder ever again.
No idea what are you talking about, maybe you should go read the letter again, rather than assume things.
You are right, they are adding new servers...
and
"enhancing the performance of the login and match making processes on both the Japanese and North American & European data centers." it doesn't say anywhere that this will be done only for the new servers, so why not stop with the silly rage threads, and wait until stuff is done, before complaining?
Hopefully they also allow transfers soon, so people spread out to the new worlds, and things even out a bit.
What they really need to do is add a new legacy server or two because not being able to log in and spamming the "A" button for half an hour hoping to get in the mythical queue is absolute bullshit. Add new legacy servers, allow transfers and merge later if needed... voila.
To add to that bullshit is more bullshit because friends who happen to be new and want to play with legacy friends can't create characters. I'm sorry but if they were able to estimate what was needed to host one group of players, it would be legacy because they could gather how many were going to be playing.

How...?! Wha....?! Huh...?!
Do any of you even understand all this technical stuff and how it works at least?! Because for some reason I have the impression that the OP is misunderstanding the meaning of adding new servers.
New servers /= New worlds (at least not only that)
Nowhere in Yoshi-p's letter did he say that the legacy servers were left ingored. New servers means improvement and better capacity for ALL the worlds. Obviously this will allow them to create more worlds if it allows them too. What Yoshi-p is saying that they're adding servers that will improve all the worlds, new and legacy alike. Serving to alleviate the server stress and hopefully allow more people to login on any world.
If you don't at least understand what a developper is saying/writing, then please just don't say ignorant things.
It's easy to get into JP servers during non Asia prime time, the same way I can get into pretty much every NA/EU server during non peak NA/EU times.
Try getting into masamune in 3~4 hours, it will be nigh impossible.
Mwahahha, I laughed at this
I am Legacy and one of the fools how paid for the whole 1.0 subs time.
I dunno where all these issues are, I hear about them but I never seem to experience them myself, I guess I am just super lucky.
I have been able to play with little to no problems since the start of early access... :0
There is a little Monkey in all of us....
LIES!! :PMwahahha, I laughed at this

Even Miqotes can't be that lucky![]()

It still kills me that people that have no clue how expensive the hardware behind the game costs say "just buy new servers and shut them down when not needed". Something to handle this kind of concurrent database transactions runs no less than $30,000 US. That's just the server, not any backplanes, racks, power strips, switches, nics etc.. All that and you're running at MINIMUM $50k a pop for a new "world". In the long run if they were 300% sure those servers would be needed and justified there would be no issues just standing up another 80 worlds and waiting to regain the costs. However with any service that is completely dependent on subscription it will wax and wain and eventually dwindle into nothing.
Tell you what if you're willing to foot the bill for well over the worlds average household income so you can have another server send them a check.
