[dev 1034] City-State Migration

With the upcoming City-State "Grand Companies (GC)" coming up.. I think it would be a good time to look at allowing players to migrate cities.

I do not want to be a 'well, like in ffxi' person, but I think it is fair to say that there are a decent number of people that may regret their starting city-state choices, or may be more interested in another city-states "GC". Or also, they could complete a Cities main quest-line and want to participate in another.

(I need to note also, that I am going on the assumption 'like xi' you can participate in your starting Cities rank missions alone unless you migrate and start over in a new city, If I am wrong on this, then my point is still valid on the basis of the main scenario should you want to start over or do a different cities main storyline / change loyalties)

Having said this, there should be some limitations.

-There should be a migration fee
-There should be a cool down timer for migrating (once a week, once a month, etc)
-I'm open to the character may even needing to meet a certain Rank requirement to do so

Feel free to add opinions as to yes/no format, and any other restrictions they feel are reasonable to such an addition.

I don't think the Company missions will be tied to what city you selected when you started. I think there's going to be separate things going on in each, with different quests and things to do.

So for example, you can go to Limsa and help with the ship fleet building or go over to Gridania and help with the Chocobo training. (just using these as examples for GC content)

I like this idea but maybe for not the same reason. I would like to do the storyline missions for other city's. I don't necessarily want to change my starting city. I enjoy the storylines and would appreciate the change to experience them.

It would be nice if it worked that way Benji. I can't really argue the point, I would say that SE / FF mmo history would prove that theory wrong, but there's a lot of advice they should have adapted from xi and did not.

Not to sound like a bully or anything, but if you had taken the time to seriously consider which city-state you truly wanted to start in, migration should not be an issue.

But hell, if you were allowed to migrate, I think you should only be allowed to do it once. After that, never again...

It'd be nice if we had the following:

- The ability to migrate to other city-states.

- The ability to do the storyline quests for those city-states.

- The ability to interact with an NPC to REPLAY cutscenes from quests.

I don't want to have to re-roll my character just to get the footage I need for my video project... >.>

I took a lot of time considering it before the game came out. And Gridania seemed like a good place, as I enjoyed Windurst previously. I could not have foreseen the storyline issues, and the surrounding area being like it is as well.

I like Uldah, but I'm also starting to like Limsa Lominsa a lot too, so I think I support this, hmm...
