The world is currently full. Please until an opening is available. 1017.
Why the fuck would you put me in a queue if you're just going to 1017 me? Square Enix, this is just rude.

It's not rude. It's an error. Its not like it was done on purpose.
Just please, keep your pants on until they i ncrease capacity.
I'd like to draw your attention to the fact that 1017 is not an error. It is a signal that everything is full. Which I don't know why I'm in a queue if it's going to 1017.
Oh I'm sorry, he must have forgotten the part where he paid for a game and was unable to play it. Oh, and also the part where it's the 2nd launch of the same game, and the same company managed to completely botch it both times.
It's pathetic beyond words.
a few hundred thousand simultaneous users tells me that it wasn't botched by any meaning of the word. Most MMOs would kill for that many simultaneous users.
We all know about the problems, and we also know they're working to fix them. there is no point or value in a being a bitter jerk, it won't get things fixed faster. They already explained in great detail why their level of preperation for the current number of users was off the mark. Stop being a <something> and either hate them forever and leave, or suck it up and wait.
I'm not excusing the fact that they made mistakes, but if it was as "botched" as you say it was, it would already have empty servers and be terminating service in a few months
your free time lasts at least until the 10th (1.0 players) or some time past that (new player free trial). So you should still be able to play 9or try to at least) well beyond the time they're supposed to have straightened this out by.

I have played through the launch of many MMOs. EQ, EQ2, Vanguard, AO, DAOC, Eve, GW2. None of them wouldn't let me play for days at a time. None of them had this issue. (Granted, AO and Vanguard had problems, but you could at least play). We may not be paying for time yet, but we did pay for the game. I don't understand how people like you defend this nonsense. It's as if SE is paying you and not the other way around.
If you bought a new car, would you be supporting the manufacturer if it only started 1 out of 5 days? I don't understand the blind loyalism video game companies seem to get.
I get where you are coming from, am I pissed off yes. Am I going to cancel my sub and quit the game, hell no. I think this game is amazing all around, yes we have issues getting on, but why the hell do we keep trying to get on, because it is that good, it is amazing, it's not blind loyalty its knowing what they have is great and having faith that they will not only do the right thing for us, but they will make good on this situation.
They are working on it, Yoshi put out a nice message not to long ago about the state of everything, and honestly its more than just another "I'm sorry" it had a plan of action behind it. This is temporary, to get up and rage quit... thats forever, and you know this game is way to good to pass up over a hiccup.
For other mmos its okay if they messed up their launch as most of them are either buy to play or free to play.
But ffxiv is a whole different story. We are paying to play this game. We are being charged monthly. So it is not acceptable that while we are paying them, we cant play because of their mistake. Sure mistakes happen, but this is something that can be avoided right from the start. We are paying them therefore theres no excuse for them that they lack the funds to pay for upgrading their servers.
None of those games were so hugely popular that the companies making them couldn't possibly fathom how much stress it would put on the servers.
Also bad analogy is bad, and you should feel bad. It's not at all like a manufacturer selling you a car that you can only drive 1/5th of the time. It's closer to a company selling millions of cars, so many that you can't even get the thing out of the parking lot to drive it, because it's so popular that everyone is doing the same.
inb4 default "white knight" remark, go to excuse of bads who don't know what they're actually talking about.
And yet you still attempt to spam log in :]
