After days and days of trying to get Square Enix to fix the mess they created with my account and region locking (see this thread http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...Locking-Issues!!!!!!!!!) I am taking it to Consumer Affairs today.

I bought this game in good faith. Paid over $100AUD for a Collectors Edition. Followed Square Enix's instructions explicitly to register my pre-order. But because of their error it has now locked me out of being able to use the game code I paid for. And despite all efforts to have this issue remedied, it has not been addressed.

This renders my physical copy unfit for the purposes it was bought for, and as such entitles me to seek remedy and/or compensation through Consumer Affairs from Square Enix.

I would strongly suggest everyone else that has region locking issues and has been told pretty much stiff.....buy a new copy/make a new account do the same in their country. It is only by doing this will we send the message to Square Enix that ignoring the people that bought legal copies of the game that are unfit for use and not having this account/region issue rectified is unacceptable.
