Saving UI preferences and macros server side

I recently had to format my computer, and upon reinstalling FFXIV I was very saddened to see that my many many macros were lost. It would be great if FFXIV could follow some other games' examples and save macros so that they are server side. It is such a key point to ease of access.

It was nice to see that my skills were still in place, but macros are a very key part of the FF14 game right now, too.

An hour and 15 minutes later I have finished all of my macros, I think, except for lancer, but that can wait, with minimal distractions. It seems like a pretty great thing to implement.

Although everything does not need to be saved serverside automatically(I'm sure there would be issues with that), there should be a way to manually save them to the server for when you know you will need them, or just to back them up. FFXI had this feature in all of it's platforms... so you could save your macros accross PS3, PS2, 360, and... PC manually to the server. Then you could just upload them the same way. This was all done in the character select screen with a simply doing Shift + Alt + Ctrl + B to upload/backup and Shift + Alt + Ctrl + R to download/restore. I agree I play on multiple systems and this would be an awesome feature!

Just backup your My Games folder under users (windows 7)/document and folders and you are fine. I create a batch file to backup all my games saved data

I'm reviving this old thread because this will be a HUGE issue for me. Once 2.0 comes out, I plan on buying the PS3 version and switching from PC to PS3 and vice versa all the time. PLEASE add the option to upload/download character macros to the server like in FFXI. Without this feature, going from PS3 to PC and back will be incredibly tedious. Reps can this please be passed along to the devs?
