My comment wasn't directed at the OP for attempting to stay logged in, it was for the part afterwards.

I don't judge those who chose to stay logged in to avoid the dreaded 1017 Boss Mob, but myself I tackle the darned thing and if I manage to defeat it, play for as long as I can and then log out, praying that another Start-button Masher makes it in behind me and not some Gold-bot.

Folks have paid the same as I have and they may play as they wish, remaining online or logging out.. to each his own. <Shrug> In a crisis, you have the right to buy every bottle of water you can afford, even beyond your need, but does that make it easier for those who are thirsty?

I look forward to a month from now, when most of these issues are resolved and folks can get back to enjoying a great game.

I have read each and every post on this thread and I am amazed at some of the thoughts.

I have talked to many inside and outside the game and from my conversations I am guessing that nearly 20% of the server population at any time are people staying logged in while they are at school, work, or just plain sleeping.

Is that bad behavior - I would dare say yes. However lets be reasonable. I would say two things about afk'ers.
1). I fully understand why they afk to stay logged in so they do not have to contend with 1017.
2). SE is to blame for rewarding bad behavior and punishing good behavior.

If anyone has trained small animals you will know that the best way to enforce behaviors is by rewards and punishment - and that is exactly my point. SE is promoting bad behavior and causing all the problems by not having an afk system and allowing for a generous que.

From what I am reading from official posts is that SE would rather throw money at an existing problem with upgrades rather than fixing what they have at the moment and then making a decision on upgrades.

Do not blame fellow players for what they feel they have to do to enjoy the game but rather lets put the blame where it belongs.

And while we complain to SE or to each other about the afk'ers, the energy corporations laugh out loud...
I'd stay afk too to get around 1017 but I can't afford the increase in energy bills.
