    Story Mission Re-design - Yay or Nay?

    Would anyone be for or against SE re-designing the story missions?

    I personally wouldn't mind a redo on them. They are very easy and pretty far apart at higher level's and for me it didn't even get that exciting until the final R46 mission, which was very awesome and I can't wait to see what happens next.

    I would prefer it if once you hit the Rank 20 Mission and they all merge in Ul'dah, if they added a new storyline back in your home nation. They could space those missions between the current ones so it doesn't seem like such a long gap at higher levels.

    Either way I think they should at least do something with the difficulty as they are laughably easy and should provide some challenge.

    I would not mind a redo there pretty much easy cake mission. But there better of making new mission then remaking i hope the new pack for this game would have every mission voiceover.

    I wouldn't redo them, I'd just give us supplemental quests that fill in the background story of the quests. I feel right now the current story line is good (wasn't it done by the WotG windurst person?) but we get glimpses of it too few and far between.

    Ya it was done by the same person who did windurst and Wotg windurst mission. I though she was going to do better but the storyline so far is good but just missing a lot of key points.

    Don't like the idea that i have to leave my city and i mean jack to my city i have to go to other and follow what they say. That what i like about FFXI i pick a city and i matter in that city a great lot when i got higher and higher in rank.

    I read that there are DATs ingame for the r52 and r54 missions (Titan model for example).

    I think it'd be cool if they just lowerd the rank of the current missions and pack more into r1>50 by giving us the 50+ ones. :3

    Its simple for them as its work they've obviously planned out already, and doesnt require a level/rank increase (something i dont see happening till ps3 release)

    @Zenaku I hope that feelings comes back with the quests/missions of Grand Companies. We will know more tomorrow, but I totally agree with you.

    Redesign, No (i wonder why people always go for the "scrap everything and redo!" solution, really, pragmatism anyone?).

    Condensate to lower levels and add more at the end, yes.

    I want a rehaul on the current missions, not a change of location but maybe add a system to missions based on your party size and increase/decrease bonus rewards and difficulty accordingly.

    With this the crafters and gatherers can still roll solo and get some story in their souls while the DoM/W can group up for a more challenging and involving mission experience coupled with a small bonus. Everyone wins!

    They should for sure raise the difficulty. The rank 46 mission should have required a small party. Utter failure on the old teams part.


    EDIT: I also find that revolving quest/mission/content difficulty based on crafters/gatherers is rather stupid. Those should be supports for combat classes not an actual battle class. If you want to do content past your crafting or gathering, level a DoW/M. This is the only MMO I've ever heard of that has ever tried to make crafting capable of fighting in anyway, or revolved any sort of combat around crafting.

    Its not a fail on their part but they did it with tunnel vision. Their goals were to include casuals and non combat classes in missions aswell and mandatory group missions like in XI were damn near impossible to do as a casual unless you had awesome friends.

    Problem is you can do missions with little to no player involvement which leaves alot to be desired by those who enjoy those fights that you leap out your chair like super mario screaming "HELL YEAH WE WON!" before realizing you just woke up your kids and your neighbors. :P
