Black Mage needs a buff to allow casting while Moving.

Edit: to make it clear I want an ability that will give like 20 seconds of cast while moving with a cooldown. to help with situations that can potentially cripple us compared to other classes.

After doing several end game dungeons/fights I really feel this is needed to keep BLM on par.

Why I feel it is NEEDED.
There are many battles with numerous AOEs that need to be dodged and a standing BLM casting it's rotation becomes somewhat unfeasible. It puts our DPS incredibly sub par.

Other things it will help with.
It would give a us a BLM only ability that would feel like a reason for the job gem. ATM all the BLM abilities lack a bit, replace crap like Apocatastasis with a 20 duration 40 recast buff that allows casting while moving.

I won't effect our standing DPS which is on par with other DDs.

Roleplay, and Histroy wise no caster is able to cast whilst moving. Only instant casts (without cast time) should be castable when moving. As caster naturally needs to focus a bit when casting is unable to do so whilst moving/running around.
(Guild Wars 2 is one of the few exceptions on this subject)

I would rather say Black Mage needs job abilities(you get via leveling) that are instant-cast and lots of damage... rather than buff to cast everything on the move.

Doing archer lv.15 for Black Mage was fun because you were able to fight on the move, I really miss that with Black Mage.

That would be why you call it Void Focus or something and it makes you just float on Aether so you are not actually moving around, You are standing casting but the magic is lifting and moving you while standing.

I don't think instant cast is the right answer either, it takes away from the spell casting aspect of the class. Standing there for a few seconds charging a massive damage spell is very satisfying.

Yes we do sacrifice damage for mobility and that is the problem. We sacrifice pretty much all of our damage for mobility, scathe and 1 spell don't help at all compared to Fire spam. And considering our standing DPS is on par with other DD classes who can move without much hassle to their rotation it really cripples the whole class.

So you are right Scathe and 1 instant cast ability is pretty worthless and we need another solution.

Attempt to play a melee character while moving and following a mob. Yeah, good luck with that.

Really, if anything I can see MAYBE having a few instant cast ability fillers, but being able to cast and move would just be to OP and rather stupid. No class really does good dps while moving, some can handle it better then others but NONE are meant to be spamming while moving around making you an unstopable kite machine. It ends an element of timing you need to account for.

Yes, I feel the lat on using abilities should be improved which should improve the ability to cast and move effectively, but I see no reason to actually give instant cast.

In DDO you were able to cast everything on the move(not comparing the games, just loaning an idea from it). With big spells you still had cast bar but you were able to move while casting it; it just slowed you down.

The idea: No instant casts but slower movement when casting on the move. Perhaps? And not with all spells, perhaps with just few.

u serious? blm is fine, there is no change needed. if so all other jobs, especially melee ones need an update, did u know, that f.e. a drg cant use styles if the mob moves!

Black Mage is fine. maybe if you took the time to learn the fights and get your rotation down to mussle memory you wouldn't lose as much DPS as u think.
