    Was wondering if I could get some feedback on my equipment for my SMN. Here's the link to my lodestone: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...acter/2163958/

    What other materia can I add to my choker or bracelet that could help me out? I'd like to cap accuracy and since my coil group hasn't downed turn 4 yet, I'm not really expecting a chance at the pants this week at least. I got "lucky" and had the Allagan chest and gloves drop, so I had an astral choker and bracelet made in order to make up the accuracy lost from darklight gloves. Should the myth gloves still be something I get soon or can I add any more accuracy materia to bridge the gap with my accessories (if I can even get any more accuracy on them). Are there other accessories I should replace in order to overmeld? I'm still new to materia melding/caps so I would really love some insight. Thank you!

    3 Aim III

    If you really don't want to use any IVs, Do Aim IIIx2->Might IIIx2->Quicktongue II.

    Bracelet I'd do:
    1 Pie IV
    2 Aim III
    3 Aim III
    4 Eye III
    5 Eye III
    If you don't want to use any IVs, do Aim IIIx2->Eyex2->Quicktongue II.


    This is all assuming you don't need any vit, which it looks like you don't.

    It's more for the higher natural MP regen than a higher MP bar(SMN has major MP problems unless you use Energy Drain), and the fact there's nothing better to slot anyways. You don't see other SMNs slotting it because they slot Vitality, whether they need it or not.

    Well, they can be not game-breaking but that's only a matter of balance.
    Still, in FFVII/FFVIII/FFX they were quite strong till end-end-end-game.

    Anyway, the most complaining thing about the summoner is that it feels like the most poorly designed class in the entire game (not balance-wise).
    All other classes have deeper gameplay, our is mostly passive and doesn't require a big brain unless like some people you don't even notice that THUNDER costs the same amount of mana as shadow flare, which is an expensive spell. But that's another problem.

    Really, Bio II Miasma Bio, fester insta shadowflare and spam ruin till dead.
    Woah, so complicated.

    My litte cousin can do it, she is 2 years old and I managed to let her dps during dungeon. Lol.

    And again, I'm not complaining about DAMAGE/UTILITY/WHATELSE (the summoner is really strong from that point of view), it's the game design about the class that is bad

    I like summoner because it can offer support to the party (always used to be a rdm back in FFXI) but the dot makes it feel like WoW's warlock (which i was never a fan of).

    I was expecting too a flashy summon, raging through the battlefield while costing astounding amounts of MP but causing untold devastation ... but nope. A miniature summon with diseases spreading like a rampant hooker ... great.

    I chose SMN ONLY because it's the ONLY class that can offer a decent amount of support (magic wise) to the party alongside dps. Sometimes I do wonder why I started SMN relic first instead of BLM ... WHERES MY RDM OR BLU !!!

    Regardless of difficulty, I still think SMN (and frankly, the other "zero RNG" based classes as well) should have some sort of reactive ability or short term buff/cooldown to use to spice things up.

    Rotations set in stone generally just get extremely technical and unfun after a while, I'd prefer to have a bit more say in what I should be doing.

    Granted dot prioritization is fun, and so is moving pet around, but I would still love to have some sort of resource (say, to empower the next DoT, or like Thunder procs to do all DoT damage upfront) or proc to deal with.

    I like this idea, something random (along the lines of a firestarter/thundercloud proc) would shake our rotation up a bit.

    Summoners should summon the miniature version of the primals with all the their abilities similar to how Lightning summons Odin during the wonder and Lightning fate.
