Pls do change the bane. That was suppose to be the best AOE assets for SMN. But after finding this out in WP, this is so sad. even WHM with HOLY doing a better job than me. =(

I would like to see the pets have a larger role. Take the AoE and give them an elemental DOT effect, make those pet buff moves such as Earthen ward and give it to the party. Decrease the cool downs on a few of the abilities like Landslide, I don't mind the stun because it's useful as a tank pet but shouldn't be a 40s wait.
I think Garudas move to extend our DOT is powerful, I would like to see it a caster ability either at level 50 or via Aetherflow, I'm not worried about the cool down 60s on that. Replace it with maybe a parry party buff?
The moves the pets have I can see why they implemented them, but so far there's no reason to use most of the pets. Ifrit I hear is bugged with delay, Garuda's the prime choice.

and as far as Kevees post goes, ( i dont know why i cant post or reply on that thread ) that is a massively HUGE BIG error that needs to get fixed, if that dont get fixed SMNs will all have to fall to BLM for 24 mans.
I think most people here speak only from the perspective of someone with full darklight and relic+1 (maybe).
Decked out in lv90 gear (I'm almost there!) is a whole different thing and most likely the point where everyone was tuned to - every Job in lv90 gear, will perform somewhat similar.
There are always situations where one is better than the other - Flare spam from BLM is incredibly high AoE DPS - probably more than what was intended.
All we can do is give them time to adjust and the only proper way to give feedback, is to do so by comparing equals, not apples and oranges.
The BLM that is slightly better geared than me, is doing more burst - of course, BLM are all about burst, and yet my sustained DPS is Very very high and gets stuff down just fine compared to the BLM. I don't have double Flare burst, but that doesn't mean I'm doing less DPS or less overall damage - not at all.
BLM requires basic math and repetition - if your mana pool is just right, you get the exact amount of spells through before emptying the bar with swift Flare and then switching to Ice to refill (or Bard tick to flare again) I find it very boring and mind-numbing. There is not much skill required here.
SMN requires a player to focus on sequencing the proper attacks and abilities - if you mess up, or have to move at a bad time in your rotation, you might fall behind, but a good player will account for those human errors and make up for it.
So yea, SMN requires more attention to be good at it - I think most here need to refine their rotations and their strategy but also to understand that we are not BLM with insane burst.
I don't think the SMN class needs to be reworked much - a few adjustments and maybe as some pointed out - pets could use improvement so that Garuda is not the default choice, that Contagion is way too good (:

Leveling my SMN which is now 31 I'd just prefer the ability to use Cleric Stance from CNJ so that I can put my allocated stat points into MND for SCH and swap them to INT on SMN with some added damage to Ruin/DoTs. I still don't really understand why SCH can use it but not SMN.
Because its supposed to be a healer only spell, thus SMN, not being healers, can't use it.
I still have to mash the command buttons since if my egi is doing a windblade while I issue a Contagion command, he will fail to follow up with it sometimes. And tbh return to me should just act like BLM's aetheric manipulation and make the summon zip to you, since its reaction time currently makes it useless to get it out of damage areas or debuff areas. In turn 2 it just feels so helpless to get it hit by the fire debuff and sustain is such a terrible spell.
