Because it would lower your damage on SMN.Leveling my SMN which is now 31 I'd just prefer the ability to use Cleric Stance from CNJ so that I can put my allocated stat points into MND for SCH and swap them to INT on SMN with some added damage to Ruin/DoTs. I still don't really understand why SCH can use it but not SMN.
It would convert all the INT you get on gear into MND.

Because its supposed to be a healer only spell, thus SMN, not being healers, can't use it.
Still doesn't make a lot of sense to me when one class can be 2 different jobs with 2 completely different stat priorities. Options seem to be just dump points into mind for SCH and suffer sub-par damage on SMN, or dump into intellect for SMN and take a hit on your heal potency on SCH either baseline or using Cleric Stance with a healing debuff.
I still have to mash the command buttons since if my egi is doing a windblade while I issue a Contagion command, he will fail to follow up with it sometimes. And tbh return to me should just act like BLM's aetheric manipulation and make the summon zip to you, since its reaction time currently makes it useless to get it out of damage areas or debuff areas. In turn 2 it just feels so helpless to get it hit by the fire debuff and sustain is such a terrible spell.

Can someone explain why Bosses, and particular mobs, become immune to debuffs at certain times? For instance, demon wall during his second set of floor AoE, lasting until not too long after repel, and the last boss starting a couple seconds before first catastrophe lasting until after its cast... I cant put anything up on them. I had to deal with it a lot during Coil T2 as well. I cant find whats going on anywhere.
You can only refresh a DoT if you have equal or greater buffs/debuffs.Can someone explain why Bosses, and particular mobs, become immune to debuffs at certain times? If you cast Bio with Raging Strikes, and then Raging Strikes falls off--You have to wait for Bio to fall COMPLETELY off before you can re-apply it.
The other thing that may be causing problems is Foe Requiem, which is a Bard song, and applies the same concept as above.

I effing love you. <33333333You can only refresh a DoT if you have equal or greater buffs/debuffs.

To OP, fantastic post. I didn't look up on the abilities so much as the lore behind the class when I started playing, but the SMN plays much more like a WoW Warlock than I was expecting. While that's not necessarily a bad thing, I was expecting it to be something completely different with primary focus on the pet/summon and a wider range of summons than 3, two of which are reskinned versions of the standard pet.
Anyway, tepee thing I think needs changing most is the 30 debuff limit, mainly as fates are a huge problem at the moment

Personally i feel the "summoner" doesn't play like a summoner at all. Primary job is applying dots, and the pet is just a ranged dot, or a melee dot with the option of a melee tanky dot.
It may just be my expectations were in the wrong, but i was completely hoping for a Yuna-esque summoner where my action bar was filled with pet commands and abilities where a good summoner could do their role while keeping both of them out of aoes.
As it is right now 90% of the time the pet dies you(me) don't notice it until you try and fire off enkindle or the other two generic abilities, a complete failure of a summoner class imho. At this point i wouldn't mind if they just gutted summons and made them fire and forget abilities like the versions from FF3-FF9 were.
