Thought so, thanks!
Another push for constructive feedback.![]()

In my own personal experience, I don't like how in FATEs all i can do us spam Miasma II and maybe Bio I a few times. Stuff just dies too quickly for my DoTs to be of any use.
As far as dungeons go, I feel pretty powerful. I like seeing my 700+ Fester criticals and my DoTs seem to do a decent amount of damage.
My only major gripe is the summons themselves. The single most annoying thing I have delt with was trying to ride my chocobo past a few hostile creeps only to have my Egi go out of its way to attack them. After moving about 20 yards or so they withdraw and then I have to resummon them when I dismount. People have told me to click on "Heel" before mounting up but that doesn't accomplish anything. Also, not being able to command your summon's movements while casting and recasting DoTs is a huge pain, especially when your Garuda is in the line of fire of a massive line attack. Then assuming your fast cast is on cooldown, you have to waste 4 or 5 seconds to resummon it.

I just want more summons, Quetzalcoatl please

Seems more summoner related threads are sprouting up as late. If you have any feedback, be sure to toss some this way.![]()
I made a fun test with a friend Summoner of my FC. We are both level 50, Mi'Qote of the sun. I'm mainly scholar, so full MND, she's mainly summoner, so full INT.
Our stuff is more or less the same. Level 45/50 blue armor from class quest, basic accessories level 46/49, and the book is the one we need for the relic quest, before Ifrit's weapon.
We tested our DOTs on dummies. Her in summoner, me in scholar with cleric stance. (In this configuration, she has around 15 more INT than me).
My dots do WAY more damages than hers. When the full set of DOTS (Miasma, Bio II, Bio and Thunder) does around 245/250 per tick for her, the same set does around 280/285 for me.
Ruin II is also higher for me, so is Energy drain, always a difference around 80 dmg for me, even if that's not supposed to be like that cause she has a higher Attack Magic Potency.
My heals are also better, even with cleric stance, but that's pretty logical.
So, if we take of fester/bane, a Scholar DPS more than a Summoner ? That's pretty illogical. Even if she has fester, the DOTs should still do more damage, SCH is not a DPS, our DPS is here to help, not to make a difference.
(And yes, I know she has a pet that helps for the damages, but we also tested the pets, and their damages is really ridiculous, around the same than a chocobo level 41, for a class named summoner, that's complety off)

It makes sense though, there is NOTHING in summoner that grants you additional DoT damage.
The class benefits are Fester, Garuda+Contagion, Spur, and RS (from archer).
Enkindle is 5 minute cooldown, so good burst but over 5 minutes amounts to negligible damage.
Tri disaster has some uses but in a single target fight is obviously useless.
Spur is good, but amounts to only ~2% or so total damage increase.
As a scholar in cleric stance, with similar int/mind you will do 10% more damage because that's what it does.
The big deal is that you have no pet. Like, literally your scholar pet cannot physically do damage.
IF, and this is the key thing here, if you had a carbuncle instead, it would be an interesting comparison.
You would be able to pull similar, if not more dps than summoner.
But as it stands your pet is 20-40% of your dps, and that is more than the 10% you gain from cleric stance, and the loss of fester is also annoying.
Now you might say, "why not just go arcanist" and there have been arguments to that regard, but arcanist is just a strict downgrade from summoner, as you lose fester and a better pet, for marginally more utility.

I agree that the summoner class does not feel like a summoner... at all. The pets are pathetic and our DoTs are too strong. Summoners in Final Fantasy games have always had extremely powerful attacks while a summon is up then it is dismissed, the current implementation my pet just does whatever it feels like and it does about 25% of my overall damage.
