Unable to Craft

I just recently picked up Leatherworking and grabbed all of the materials needed to begin leveling this profession.

Clicking on the first item, I then clicked on "Synthesis" and once I did this, my window popped up and nothing happened. Thought my game might have been lagging, so I grabbed some food and waited. This took about 30 minutes before my game froze and I was kicked out.

Having logged back in, I tried this again, this time, I moused over my Send/Receive icon and noticed that while standing around, I got a decent send/receive, though the moment I begin to craft, it goes to Sent 0 Received 2780. Nothing happens and my character just sits there looking like a tard.

Are you just clicking synthesize and sitting there or are you trying to use your actions like basic synthesis to progress the quality bar?

When you First change to a new job, you have to set abilities to your hotbar. If changing consoles, you have to set them again.
