Chocobo Companion Question

White Knights are idiots.

All of them fail to realize that expansion packs and regular patches can very easily change the dynamic of the game. An ever-expanding and customizable game doesn't fit well with a static, forever locked chocobo.

I don't know about the rest of you, but some day, after some expansion packs, I'd like to see expansions to these mechanics. There will be more roles. More classes. More jobs. And I don't want to feel like I will be less effective at a given role because I hadn't designed my chocobo around a job or role or content patch that didn't even exist at the time I made my chocobo.

In other words: Stop ruining the game with your xenophobia, White Knights. You help nobody. Not even yourself.

as much as i agree with this post (albeit, too aggressive), you used the term "white knight" wrongly =O white knights are male posters who defend female posters (at least those who claim to be female), usually because they think they have a chance to get laid or something similar. Thus the term, white knight, they wish to be the damsel's gallant knight in shining armor.

If I can change my class to DD/Healer/Tank, why not my companion? After all, they should be able to aid us for our weaknesses (healers to get tank companions as an example). I agree though that this should not be as easy so as spoon feeding it to us, probably in a form of fun, lengthy quest maybe?

no one say your companion CANT change its role, the chocobo can have all 3 stance but will be a jack-of-all-trade and that is your choose

edit: someone mention there is an archivement to max all 3 stance, but that maybe be happen when the rank increase or w/e may happen in the future

I could be wrong,(I just unlocked GCs, so can't verify it myself anytime soon) But can't you get 3 chocobos now? Since you can switch Grand Companies, can't you join all 3 and get 1 from each. Or is the companion not the same as the mount, that is just upgraded with a grand company quest?

Either that,they plan on letting you more another way or respec with the 2.1 update. They wouldn't put an achievement like that otherwise.

afaik you only get 1 companion chocobo atm, if you had bought the chocobo from 1 GC and then switch the the other, the chocobo will not appear on the sell list.

but as said, it is all about the future so lets wait and see but atm we gotta be careful of what we choose

My chocobo atm is r3 with 6 SP, as r1 = 1, R2= 2 and r3 = 3

I would like to ask how much SP does it cost to learn the 2nd skill of a stance ?

Its the same mind boggling choice they made with the permanent stats choices for arcanist. The strong point of the game is that you can switch roles and play style when you want, but they seem intent on pigeon-holing players unnecessarily with these choices. If I went with a tank companion to level my pugilist, Im stuck with it when I want to level my gladiator? How does this make sense? I just dont understand their rationale.

Because my plan was originaly 3 Chocobos each specialized in one of the 3 roles and 1 or 2 hybrid Chocobos.

Maybe also let me be a Chocobo trainer if it is possible ^^
Raise them, train them and then sell them on the market.
