I would also like to know this, I'm a 1.0 non-legacy player as well. But I hope the free days will also count for any 1.0 players, not only just the new customers that bought FFXIV ARR.

It's more than any Japanese company has ever held at any time concurrently in their nation's history. And it has surpassed the second runner up by more than 50k users now.
Keep in mind that 218k is more than the entire population of Richmond, (Capital of) Virginia playing at once. (Virginia is 102/289 on the list of most populated Cities in the United States above 100k people. )
That's a hefty number of people.
Actually, by more than 100k. As the second runner was Phantasy Star Online with 107k this july when they launched the new expansion. and that's a F2P game to boot.
If anyone thinks 218k doesn't sound like that much, either he needs to buy a sense of proportions, or he's intentionally trying to downplay what's a very solid success. 218k concurrent connection is a VERY high number for a P2P game.
By the way. The official translation of Yoshida-san's message has just been posted for those that were complaining.

Didn't take that long at all.
Pretty awesome!
Uhhh that's nice and all that there adding a few more days but what's the point if you can't even log in?
*beams* I got the first 'like' on that page, pure luck.<...>

But my mistake, I thought the record was somewhere around 130k. We've more than doubled the record then. I hope that gives people a proper understanding of just how much we've blown expectations out of the water with our interest.
I do hope Yoshida isn't too hard on himself.
I think you missed the part where he said they were optimizing the servers and adding new ones. As in for, they're fixing it.
Whats the point of answering your question when you clearly lack the will or capacity to process the answer? Spend 10 seconds actually reading instead of feeling sorry for yourself and you'll find that they are adding new servers and increasing capacity at the beginning of next week.
so the people that don't get to play and cant log on will get free days but also the people that are on and never log off and can play all they want get more free days? Equality... I think not![]()
