I've started linkshell as a medium to create parties for various duties. In particular, it is meant to be used as a way for party offers to be shared between major linkshells and free companies. This ideally makes shouting for members (restricting to those only in the area, which is unnecessary for those who need it) or duty finder (filling parties with those you cannot contact again or befriend and restricting party builds) a last resort. The name of the LS is aptly named "Cross-Company Shout" (this may change in the future, but it is of little consequence). How it works is very simple.
Every represented FC or LS will have anywhere from one to five members in this LS. Communities participate by having these members relay information to and from their respective FCs/LSs. This means whenever a party being made within a FC is looking for outside members to fill up party spots, one of these "messengers" can inform other messengers in "Cross-Company Shout" LS of the details of this party and who to contact to join. The receivers of this message then take it back to their FC/LS and inform others. A messenger of a FC/LS is expected to take part in both roles in their own discretion. Party info has no strict rules, but should include the leader's name (or at least who people should contact to join), the content they want to do, what roles they are looking for (or what roles have already been filled), and how many spots have been filled. Examples:
Blaetrot Pfarskoefsyn is making a party for Toto-rak. He's a tank, 1/4.
(|Halatali|) 3/4 looking for a (|healer|) /tell Blairie Polois
Perhaps a long-winded explanation for a simple concept which requires very little effort: Designated members see message and carry message back to or from their personal FC or LS. Their job ends and people contact whoever is making the party to join.
To avoid any miscommunication, I've been contacting FC/LS leaders to organize this Sargatanas community linkshell. This post is mainly aimed at leaders I haven't contacted. To get the most out of limited space, I would prefer if active a FC/LS with over 30-40 members contact me to join. This currently a temporary limitation and I will reconsider it if asked. Currently, there is roughly a dozen represented communities of varying levels of pearled members. I'd like to increase that number by at least double, to cover the expectation that several LS/FC will likely not use it with much frequency.
People who do not belong to a LS/FC joining is not out of the question, but is currently being avoided, especially while I'm trying to establish not only a wide roster of partnered communities, but trying to get them to make a habit of using the LS. If you'd like to be apart of this LS for your FC/LS, ask your leadership to join or if you could join for them. Remember this is an entirely voluntary process which will mean nothing for the FC itself but a few more recruiting messages being said in that chat channel. With that understood, I imagine most leaders will be okay with it even if they do not plan to use it.
Those with questions or interested in joining their community should contact me with this thread, PMs, or /tell in-game. I hope we can work together to make a stronger and more memorable Sargatanas community. Thanks for your time.
