PS3 players doomed in end game?

I have been hearing a lot of talk about a damage meter that can be installed like an app for WoW. Now imho the dps meter helped and hurt, helping by making sure everyone pulls there own but harmful at the same time by limiting newer players to obtaining experience.

So my question is are PS3 players going to be looked down on because we can not access this application.

I really enjoy the dungeons and I want to progress in end game, but I want to know now how difficult it will be to do so.

you should be going to ps4 as soon as possible but no, we have some good players on ps3 in my group and they do not hinder our progress we just one shot 1-4 on monday this week

Console players are not at a huge disadvantage. We have a PS3 player playing Bard in our Coil group who can interrupt voltages and pass rots without needing to use VOIP. There are some obvious technical limitations for the console but it doesn't seem to be game breaking. I don't think there's an addon that would be absolutely mandatory on PC that console players couldn't live without. I'm thinking addons will be more of a convenience feature if anything.

Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better! I was really getting that gloomy feeling. I will get PS4 when its more stable haha. I wonder if the PSVita streaming will work with FFXIV:ARR for those times the wife takes the TV. o.0 lol

If you don't get voice communications, I'd say you're at a disadvantage as well as hobbling the group. Who wants to type all the strats and call outs adds etc while the fighting is going crazy?

In our Team we have a Scholar*/Dragoon/Warrior playing in ps3 wihtout problem, and we are in turn 5 coil.
We can do oneshot almost everything without problem.

I Think we have another good player in ps3, in group 5 or 4, i dont remember, but group 5 and 4 they are in turn 4 too.

Not at a disadvantage at all I play pld occasionally and mark targets for people it's not that hard to do and I'm on ps3 and don't use voice chat.

Being on ps3 doesn't mean your at a disadvantage or that your going to lack the ability to do your job well, my main class is whm and I can heal extremely well in any fight that I do, I do get comments from FC friends asking how I do this though as controls take some getting used to. voice chat is not necessary i dont use it as i have looked at videos and practiced with my fc. If in doubt there are plenty of YouTube videos usually available.
Who ever says ps3 players hinder the party obviously don't know what they are on about.

If there are I applaud you, this is the kind of disadvantage most are speaking of. You cant make call outs with a controller without using macros, I don't see you putting down your controller to type instructions in the middle of an event, and the macros for callouts would take the place of abilities.

Just like I don't stop healing to type call outs into chat, I just speak it and never skip a beat. I have PS3 players in my static group, but they all have voice, if not to talk, to listen for callouts and co-ordinate strategy better.

If you think that not having voice comms is not an issue, build a complete BC group with only PS3 players without voice comms and see how that goes.

Ooooh I see, so NOW its mandatory, so NOW you all start with the "oh you're handicapped" stuff..

This is the exact BS I was talking about during beta, here we ps3 players sat talking about how the Ps3 needed VC and what did most you folks say??

"Oh you won't need it"

"Get a keyboard you'll be fine"

"If you need VC to be good you must suck"

But now? Now it's a handicap, now its everything you people said it wouldnt be. Well im not paying for an extra third party program and running a damn laptop while running my ps3.

You guys swore it wouldnt be an issue so now you can friggin reap what you sew.

I would just suggest tagging along with people using a voice program if they will allow it, and not freaking out, or download the mobile version of the VOIP and just listen to whats going on. That's what a few of my raiders do, the programs are free.
