And there is the issue. It shouldn't take what is now nearly 3 months after launch to change items so that they can be discarded. The whole "we are looking into ways of implementing this" is a huge blanket statement for them basically saying they are behind on every issue. God knows if this was a bug that allowed people to have some sort of unintended advantage they would take the servers down immediately and fix it, but if it is a bug that hinders the player and inconveniences them then it takes forever to get it fixed and the best we can hope for is them fixing it in 2.1.
