Character Creation World Limit Bug

I am actually posting this on my brother's behalf.

Last night, the World my brother has been trying to get on (Behemoth) was unlocked and available for a brief period. He tried to create a character, but was told that his character limit for that World had been reached, even though he had zero characters on that world.

Also, for some reason he is able to create multiple characters on another World, even though he hasn't subscribed yet and should be limited to one.

Is this a known issue? It's frustrating enough trying to get on the right server, but this bug made it impossible, and now the World is locked again.

I had this problem as well. At the time I had 4 character in total on my account - two on JP servers, and 2 on Adamantoise (NA). I tried to make a new character on an open server and it told me I had reached the limit of characters for my account type. I deleted the JP characters awhile ago and eventually managed to make a new character on Cactuar (NA) just recently. I still have both of my other characters on Adamantoise.

Also, one of the characters I deleted from the JP servers still exists in my account info on the forums and lodestone site even though it was deleted about 4 days ago. I hope that wont be causing me any problems later. All I care about at the moment is that I do indeed have a character on the server I want, finally. As long as I can play it from there, then I'm good.

Edit: Oh, and in case it matters. I played the last Beta, bought the digital CE from SQEX, registered the pre-order code, but have not yet registered my CE code. That's all my account is atm. Didn't play 1.0.

What account type does he have? There is a total limit of characters for each account type. 8 if your entry, 40 if your standard.

He just has the basic account, but he only had 1 other character (on Midgarsormr) when he was trying to make one on Behemoth. He's only supposed to be able to make 1 character per world, but was able to make a second on Midgarsormr. It's like the system though his Midgarsormr character was a Behemoth character or something ><

Behemoth seems to be locked out, and has been for days. That is the reason. There has been no openings listed on any post thus far.

i constantly had this issue trying to create a character too this week. I finally after 1 week of waiting was able to create my first character early this morning but the last 6 days of trying when i would catch a server supposedly allowing new characters i would get the error the op is talking about. I think when that happens someone has already beaten you to making the available characters on said server and it defaults to that message since the world is full and character creations were locked again.

thanks for the reply! That makes sense. It did happen again after refreshing the world list (the world was still listed as available) but I guess that's just bad luck! It's become absurdly hard to play with family and friends, so hopefully we see some improvements soon :S

@Ryo_Teragoes If you actually read the OP you'd see that the world was unlocked last night. Almost every World has been yo-yoing all week between locked and not. When they're not officially locked, you just have to wait for a spot to open up (which takes a lot of refreshing and patience).

Spent literally 17 hours trying to make a character on Hyperion(NA). And have spent the last 3 days trying on and off.

I love how the world selection screen tells you to make sure that if you want to play with your friends, to pick the same realm. Yet all my friends are damn near lvl 50 and I can't even get INTO the world.

I mean is to so bad that I WANT to play on the same world as my friends? This is really going to affect weather I make a lasting subscription if I can't even play with whom I intended.
