    Unfortunate changes to archer ability animations from beta to final 2.0 release

    First off, I want to say congrats to the dev team for pulling off the impossible. I'm having a blast with the so many things to engage in.

    But exactly as the thread title states, as I recently started up archer after playing it extensively during the first three phases of beta, and after acquiring the first few abilities, the first thing that stood out to me is how mundane they have become in the final release versus how visually interesting and engaging they were during beta.

    What was the impetus for this change in the first place? Personally, I think this is a pretty grave problem, especially given that it isn't an issue with other classes that all have pretty cool-looking movesets going for them. The archer by contrast seems to have adopted the "Ben Stein" monotone approach to combat, and it's boring.

    Given that that lack of visual appeal in combat animations was a big deal to a lot of people back during the 1.0 days, I really feel this needs to be rectified.

    Because everyone and their brother did not like the "sliding" you did mid animation. So now they are mostly upper body animations, so the lower body runs normally when you move and use skills.

    I can see the reasoning behind that, but they didn't seem to add a suitable replacement as much as they just decided to give up on it. And the sliding as bad as some people may have thought(erroneously, but that's a matter of opinion) was still better than what we have now, which as of this typing is still boring.

    See, that's the thing. That's your opinion. And in other people's opinion, it was worse before. Not mine mind you, but i'm not bothered in either case. It was also the opinion of enough people for SE to change it.

    I agree. Archer had some awesome animations in beta, but now it seems like the changes were done without great thought put into them. Only your upper body moves and it creates an unnatural look like it's not supposed to be that way. I vote we go back to the way it was. The sliding wasn't that bad anyway.
