Black screen with loader mark ?

Hey When i Open the Client Log in press Play it goes into loadingscreen and then it keeps running with the cursor.
Please if any know's how too fix this.
It works on my dad's windows XP
but not on my Windows 7
I've used a portable harddrive. too check them both with the same program.
Solution??? im giving up soon !!! PLEASE I WANNA PLAY THIS FANTASTIC GAME !

I've reached a solution. Window.s> docs > my games> FFXIV.ctg > Notepad edit> Cut Scene 0 Change the 0 too 1 and it wil skip it !

I had the same problem during a duty finder PT.

After awhile floating text-bubbles would pop up on my screen of the boss's dialogue. Took me awhile but I found out that I could actually still type. When I found this out, I found out I could read what the PT was saying. I apologized, but was not sure if they could see what I typed.


Sorry to lay this on you, but I would like to ask you since your the first one that appeared when I typed "black screen" on the forum search. Is the solution you came up with safe? Did you file an official report and did SQEX respond back?

I just don't want this happening again since it is problematic in many ways.

The problem may sound the same but it isn't mine was the Intro cutscene So I MADE IT SKIP IT. your's is more like a bug or corrupt data
