I'm sure there is a post somewhere around but I can't seem to find it. How does one go about buying mats, armour, weapons etc... I see that market place is still not the greatest. Any place else I'm missing? Thanks

The Market Boards are the closest thing we have to an auction house. They are in the market districts. Players use NPC characters called Retainers to list items on the boards. Retainers become available during the main questline, apparently after the first dungeon. That is probably the reason the boards have slim pickings.

I'm on the quest for the first dungeon, but have yet to complete it. The server stability has me a bit apprehensive about trying. I'm guessing many feel the same, resulting in less retainers and less postings. There are also a large number of new players now. The market board should start to fill as they get further in the game.

Server stability is fine and always has been its only the intial logging in thats causing issues for people, been doing dungeons for the last few days no problems.

Now that I think about it, I have only been disconnected once since launch. That was after playing five hours straight, so I needed a break anyhow. I'll try to get that quest done the next time I get in.... though that may be after the servers are fixed anyhow LOL

There are also NPC vendors in the appropriate-level towns and camps sometimes. Keep an eye out for them.

Market Boards are easy to use. Shouldn't be an issue. If you can't find what you need, then that means no one is currently selling it so check back later.

And you dont always get the retainers after the first Dugeon but they will come to you in time. The market boards are a nice feature and the market auciton economy is well thought out with some innovations that are quite good. You will be limited in what you can spam in the listings which prevents people from monopolizing the sales process, a feature that is not to the liking of some who want to play the markets or get all of their crafting supplies by just buying them instead of going out and experiencing the world of the game. lots to look forward to. If by not the greatest you mean "fully functional auction house", then yes.
