It's worth noting that in previous final fantasy Bahamut has always been male (he's refer to the God of Dragons or King of Dragons in a few different FF games), or ambiguous. But I can't recall a single instance where Bahamut was female in the series.

I'd say Female.... My wife gets just as mad as Bahamut did in that video when I wake her up from a deep slumber.
yep. Bahamut is a male.
not just in final fantasy ether. Bahamut is the God of all Good aligned (metalic) dragons in the dungeons and dragons universe.
that means brass, bronze, silver, gold and copper dragons all worship Him. His alignment there is Lawfull good, and he is depicted as a Platinum Dragon (you guys may remember that from ff7 and his last summoning form)
His opposing Dragon is Tiamat, the 5 headed Dragon Goddess of Evil aligned Dragons (chromatics) red, blue, white, black and green dragons serve Her. Each one of Her heads is one of those colours. (you may remember Her from the DnD Cartoon. She was allways trying to beat up Venger)
whats not always know though, is that they also go by one other name each in that same gaming universe. Paladine and Takhissis.
and since the names go waaaaay back to the time of Gilgamesh and the first cites, where they also were gods and goddesses.... its not surprising we keep them about hehe.
also, wouldnt YOU be narked off, if you were having a nice millenia long nap, and some bugger pokes you awake trying to tell you what to do?

To those who have taken in interest in this subject. I dare say that it is strictly up to you whether or not Bahamut is male/female; it is that of your own opinion.
But to say the least Bahamut is fictitious and in that matter it is left to the imagination of what gender it is: male, female, or both.
In any matter to what most of you have said about king and how one is addressed. In any millitary branch the female officer is addressed as sir or the fact that there has been known to be female kings.
I for one say that Bahamut is a being of great power and is that of no gender or preference, be that it may that many verses or games have referred to Bahamut as both.
So in short response Bahamut is all.
Oh and PS: those of you who mentioned king of dragons, Bahamut was actually a, fish like deity in original mythology. HAHA

Male!!....

Dalamud was female
Nael Van Danus was male
Nael impregnated Dalamud by turning into red glitter and flying up into the sky
They made a baby
Baby is Bahamut
Bahamut hatched and found both its parents gone
Bahamut had a sad
Bahamut had a tantrum
Rogue has forgotten where she was going with this...
Baby Bahamut is only 5 years old. Too young to impose gender roles on it
